Hello everyone. I'm looking for early F-15A wheels, as well as the ESCAPAC IC-7 seat, if anyone has spares. These are to go into a Hasegawa F-15C, built as an A model, in the early "air superiority blue."

Curious- I use the Mr. Color line as well, buts my understanding that they're solvent-based lacquers. I mean, the paint smells pretty much like my wife's nail polishes; I use Mr. Leveling Thinner for airbrushing, and cleanup with lacquer thinner. Am I mistaken? (I was also told that the Tamiya X / XF line is "acrylics lacquers.")

I'm almost finished with it.

I used Iliad decals, 48019 "Special OPs Skyraiders."

Hello everyone. I'm wrapping up a Tamiya 1/48 Spad, doing the markings of "Lieutenet America." Doing some searches online for reference photos, I saw a photo or two that suggests "America" had the US national insignia on the upper right wing, as opposed to the left wing where it's typically placed. Does anyone have knowledge or info about this particular bird? Thanks for looking.

Hello all: I'm looking for the small "clamshell" looking front main LG doors, they "disappeared" from my workbench (see below). 1/48 Tamiya A-1J is my current WIP, but doors from any Tamiya variant would be fine. Please PM me if you may have something available. (Something weird's going on at my workbench, in my basement. I think mice are running off with parts I've stuck to wood craft sticks using "sticky-tack," I happened to find the two large wing pylons under my desk with the sticks. (Do mice eat sticky-tack, or super-tac, or whatever?) Thanks!

On the 1/48 Hasegawa F-4J kit ("Showtime 100", P1 / 07101), there are two different sets of main landing gear wheels. The kit instructions have you assembling two halves, and these wheels look to be of the wider/fatter variety. Is this correct for a J model? (I am doing VMFA-235 circa early to mid-1970's.) It turned out (mostly) OK for me.

I realized my mistake after I'd glued in the main gear struts. I was able to get the problem corrected, but it would be MUCH easier if I'd realized beforehand. If you have a simple small saw and a drill, you can saw the lower struts at the line shown in the pic below, and swap sides. I used small wire as a bonding/reinforcing piece when I reassembled.

Normally Scale Aircraft Conversions has replacements, but it doesn't appear so for the Hobby Boss kit. I found out the hard way that a bit of surgery is required to get the gear facing the correct direction.

Another hour or two's progress. Mr Surfacer 1500 as a preliminary gage on how much more filling and sanding will be needed before final prime coat and painting.

I had two of these kits 20 years ago or so, got one maybe half finished, then I don't remember what happened. But this is my "first" Tamiya Corsair build. So far, so good. Buttoning up the fuselage is about the 3 or 4 hour mark, not exactly sure. Interior surfaces primed with Mr.Surfacer 1500 (black), then thin coats of an interior green mix I used, again Mr. Color (roughly half zinc chromate yellow and a light interior green).
