  1. More pix of my similar build, I hope?? Per ur request. Bye, bye detail.
  2. I just now added to collective sleeve under the lateral/fore and aft support to expose more of the pitch horns above the Xmsn cowl after comparing to photos of Hueys. It IS a work of love for me, but don't look too close at the details. What I had to do is really out of sight to raise that swashplate support higher. Oh well. We'll know more when it's all dried and painted. Had Kitty Hawk put those mounts on inside of transmission housing, this would NOT have had to happen. Bo
  3. This kit is a 'modelers' dream!! Plenty of detail to SUPER detail with all that detail in view. That said, this kit is also an 'assembler's' nightmare!! Just enough lack of designed to require complete dry assembly to check fit and relation to surrounding parts!! One really needs to build two kits back-to-back to see all of the errors of design and assembly. Bo
  4. Here goes my attempt to post image. Hummm, can’t get my latest photo to load on PostImage?? Worked. Bo
  5. Looking good Charlie!! I'm about where you are right now with my build. I do have interior in and both forward fuselage halves together. I had clearance issues trying to get nose over instrument panel glare shield. Had to trim forward glare shield back from nose and also so windshield would fit down snug. You may want to do some dry fitting in that area. I also put thin plastic shim under battery compartment nose to keep it flush with nose area??? I'm now letting crew doors and sliding cargo doors transparencies dry. Glued in with Future. EDIT: I did add wire screen to mo
  6. In 1970 RVN, we ALL wore 'Chicken Plates'. Armored front that had chest centered pocket for survival radio or cigarettes. Flight jacket was sage green and inside was orange!! Ditto for Flight Jacket stateside when I got out US Army Reserves circa 1979 or so. EDIT: IF that's a one piece flight suit, we all had two piece ones with Velcro wrist and ankle adjustments. I'd guess this was 1980 on configuration??? I kept my old 2-piece suit to this day. We Reservist were the last to get updated gear. Circa 1970 RVN US Army Flight Suits Demon 68 Bo
  7. Ya mean IF I get it??? If I can find a way to post pix I will. Bo
  8. The somewhat confusing part of all this is the stated fact of producing only 100 kits. If they were making them as they were ordered, why state that 100 number??? Are you implying they may make MORE than 100 kits??? The kicker is the length of time to make 1 kit??? Bo
  9. Good news. The current price is some 100 Euros lower. Of course, they're NOT in Stock!! Bo
  10. Finally found place on their website where I could order it, so I did. After order was finalized, I got email from them advising it was 'OUT OF STOCK' and would take up to 10 months for order to be shipped????? Hope I'm still alive by then. Bo
  11. Finally saw clear parts on Instructions. Not the best presentation of clear parts I've seen, on white background. Decals were confusing. Seems to be missing a sheet or two???? Some markings are paint stencils??? Bo
  12. Sent them an email and asked to see decals and clear parts. Hope they respond. Bo
  13. Has this kit been released yet, and if so, has anyone seen one??? I've asked HpH to show the clear parts and the decal options back in early Dec 2017 and no response. Going to their website, there is NO pictures of kit transparencies!! For this subject, transparencies can be a game killer OR Winner!! Show 'em HpH!! The decals, too!! Bo
  14. Oooops!! Did ya dip the canopy in Future prior to masking or is it bare plastic?? Bo
  15. Anyone tired to use this stuff as canopy mask??? Sticks GREAT with no apparent residue. Gotta try it as a mask on current build, when I get back on it. Darn Christmas!! Bo
  16. Alright, I posted my questions to HpH on their website 4 Dec and awaiting Moderator. You'll know when I know. Bo EDIT: 15 Dec. and no reply from Moderator. Moderators stay busy this time of year.
  17. Haven't tried contacting them directly and that's going to be my next obvious step. Hoped forum members might know. It IS a bit concerning that HpH hasn't shown clear parts; especially when this kit cost $700 - $800!! You'd kinda like to know EVERYTHING about it, decals and all, B4 you shell out that kinda money for a kit. HpH might wanna revisit their marketing plan for it, ya think?? Maybe not since they've already sold 83 of the 100 planned kits!! LOL!! Bo
  18. Plentiful supply of question marks!! ????????? See???? Bo
  19. I've searched their site for answers with no avail. Just wonder WHY they never show clear parts?? Bo
  20. Several questions loom about this kit. 1. Of all the photos I've seen, NONE show the transparencies which can make or break this kit!! What kind are they?? Vac or injection mold plastic??? Resin (prone to yellow)??? 2. Main components are fiberglass. What is used to glue fiberglass??? CA??? 3. What will this monster weigh??? Display issues??? 4. Decals??? Another missing part, or at least not shown, part of this expensive kit. Any answers to these questions??? I understand 83 of the 100 kits have been sold already!! Bo

    Revell 1/48 B-17G

    Whoa!!! Nice looking Fortress!!
  22. Strategic Air Command is on Turner Classic Movies this Saturday AM!! The B-36 scene in there will get those juices flowing!! Some of the best air photography there is!!! I still wonder how much this model will weight!! Just handling it during build may be toooooooo much!! Will DEFINITELY have to build. paint and decal it in sections!! Then finally assemble it at the end. Bo
  23. Tell her it was on Sale!!! She'll love ya for being thrifty!! LOL!!! Bo
  24. Fiberglass and resin!! Gotta use CA as adhesive?? Seen anything about the weight of this model??? Really looks good with excellent detail!! Hummmmmm. Here comes Santa Claus, here come Santa Claus...... Bo
