  1. Richard, What I know about computer security, you couldn't fill a thimble; but, why would the crooks monitor an individual and get one set of info, when they can monitor a business and get MANY sets of info?? I'm guessing even a crook will go to places they can get the most for their efforts!! And my computers are as safe as I know how to make them without taking a hammer to 'em!! Then they'd be safe!! LOL!! Sign of the times I guess. Never had car thieves until we got cars!! LOL!! Bo Roberts
  2. I hear ya!! This was my second time to be stung. At least the word is getting out about this subject. We ALL don't know how involved this is. Bo Roberts
  3. One more thing that I just now confirmed with my CC company: Instead of putting ur signature in that signature block on the back, write: 'See Photo ID'. Of course this don't help with on line orders, but makes it a bit harder for anyone to use a stolen card. I guess. At lease they can't dupe ur signature and sell it, too. BTW Crazy Don, my CC company notified me that there was an issue, I didn't need to tell them. And they offered NO explanation HOW my card was compromised. Guessing they'd just be 'guessing', too. Sorry Sprue Bros. if I caused any harm to your or your excellent company
  4. Yeah I understand, do I need to apologize to myself, too?? LOL!! I'm NOT trying to harm anyone, rather give a 'heads-up' to everyone using CC for online purchase. I asked this question to the 'Professional Security/IT' person: "Is it possible that retailers don't even know that they have been compromised"? His answer was, 'If Apple didn't know that a mirror site was operating behind theirs, I promise others don't either'!! I'm NOT a computer geek, for sure, but from what this pro said, the MS security was broken and now the crooks have all necessary info to set up mirror sites that you, I
  5. I guess my purpose is to notify all, IF MicroSoft has really been compromised, it's gonna happen alot more often to all of us!! There is NO SUCH thing as a SECURE site, now more than ever!! I VERY seldom use my CC on line!! I cringe when I think of ever 15 yr has a PC with time on their hands to CHALLENGE the security system!! About the time a defense is designed, there are those hard at work to defeat it!! And sooner, rather than later, they do! So my suggestion to all y'all, is to WATCH IT!! Bo Roberts
  6. Well, yeah, the first time I ordered from Hong Kong and the scam came outta Vietnam. But both cases it would appear that I was traveling, you see, and just might pass as legit. From what I heard, the MS breach was the first time ever this was none, and all of our personal data may be compromised. There is NO SUCH thing as total security even from the Pros!! Retailers may not even know themselve that their security is breached!! Bo Roberts
  7. Well, for SURE the later is NOT the case. It just seems odd two times my CC was stolen was right after I ordered on line from a model company NOT near my home, and both times its fraud use was closer to the model retailer, than me!! Wonder if it's not an inside job from the CC company!! I suggested that to them tonite when they called. Bo Roberts
  8. Well, the Computer man today said that the MS breach was a HUGH problem for MS!! The news media did mention something last week about security allowing viruses to be spread. I do have a secure firewall, and every so often it tells me all is well!! Yeah right!! No such thing as security!! Any defense can and will be overcome!! Bo Roberts
  9. First off, read my edit. Second off, I'm trying to give others a 'heads up' about the MS database thing! Thirdly, How does one verify WHO stole my info?? Beats me!! Bo Roberts
  10. Strange, I haven't used my CC in more than a week, but just today, I ordered on line from Sprue Bros and tonite, my CC Company calls and advised of someone buying $74 worth of shoes in a Wilmeton, DE shoe store. Someone, Sprue or maybe me, has a security issue. I heard just today that MS's operating system was compromised last week. May see a bunch more of this in the future. Has anyone else had trouble like this in the past?? One other time I ordered some models from an oriental model company, and got a call saying someone in Vietnam ordered CD from Japan!! I wish model retailers would go
  11. Thanks, Andre. One would think the Airfix instructions would so note that the bombay roof can be used to depicit a closed bay, huh?? Bo Roberts
  12. Who's built this kit?? The instructions don't show the bombay closed and I don't find any parts that will close the bombay. How does the real thing operate? Clamshell like a B-17 for example? Or does the entire bay rotate to open and close?? HELP!!! Bo Roberts

  14. Got 'em and won't use either the F-4 nor Apache decals. Contact me off line. Check ur MSG B'Dog. Bo Roberts
  15. HELP!!! I'm wanting to make a early U-2C without that long dorsal spine and Cutting Edge made two Conversions that replaced the spine with a U-2A type flat upper fuselage. I think these CE Conversions are 48287 and 48325. Anyone have one or both these conversions that they can live without?? My starting point will be the Testor's kit that has that big ole ugly spine!! Bo Roberts
  16. LOL!! You’re most likely correct. Guess it's just me and possibility a function of the size of my work area, but I've always like to finish up on anything I start BEFORE starting another mess!! Bo Roberts
  17. I'm sorry!! And I'm the one that's pushing for this info. It's the Special Hobby 48th scale kit. Sorry, I'll not do that again, ....... until next time!! LOL!! Bo Roberts
  18. Started in the Fall of 09 and wanted to have it finished before my Italian guest arrived in October, but just couldn't get the jucies flowing on this one. Wanted to start others but I do NOT start on anything new until I finish what's started. So here it is, hot off the assembly line. A very sloooow assembly line!! LOL! The canopy is vacuformed so the detail of the cockpit can be see. Comments welcome. Bo Roberts
  19. Latest guy in California is having money problems and they're looking into if this was staged or not!! Betting it is!! Bo Roberts
  20. Looks a little 'tippy toed' to me as well. But since I don't built 32tooth, I really didn't pay much attention to it except knowing they tend to scale down subjects to 48th. When the 48th D model hits I'll get interested. Bo Roberts
  21. I heard that 911 conversation this morning, too. He was toooooo busy driving to shift to NEUTRAL??? Give me a break!! Yet he had time to call 911!!! Right!! Sounds like a set-up to me!! Head of the line for Darwin Awards??? For sure!! Bo Roberts
  22. I'm just guessing as I don't drive those Japanese POS, but I'd guess that when someone puts it in neutral, the load is removed from the drive train and the engine hits red-line real fast!! Drivers think it's still driving the wheels and think nothing has happened. It should be coasting and the brakes should work just fine!! When the car stops, the engine will still be red-line but not going anywhere!! Put it in PARK fast, then turn off the engine. Now, IF one can NOT put it in NEUTRAL, then ALL Toyotas should be remover from our roads immediately!! They're unsafe anytime the engine is ru
  23. Unless those 'clever Toyota engineers' designed it so one can NOT shiflt it to neutral, it IS all that simple. ALL my US cars can be shifted into neutral while driving!! I'll give you that reaction time is critical, so I can see one running through a garage or hitting something in front, or behind you. But by the time a car hits 120 MPH and ya can think to call 911, ......... no excuses!! Bo Roberts
  24. Seems alot of people depend on the Gov't helping them, that's why they call 911!!! Those that call 911 while driving around with a stuck accelator, ........ should go to the head of the ine for the next Darwin Awards!! Bo Roberts
