  1. Does anybody have information on the P-26A that they flew? Of particular interest is the aircraft squadron numbers. Thanks in advance, Bo Roberts
  2. Trumpeter has just stopped talking about this kit. It was announced 2 years ago. Bo Roberts
  3. Yes I built it years ago, and NO, it's not worth it!! Bearly looks like a Fw-190D ! about 1/55th scale. Don't waste ur time nor money!! Bo Roberts
  4. Didn't Accurate Miniature say they were reworking the P-51B and C Mustang?? Did they mention this at the Nationals? The photo of their display had pixs of these subjects. Didn't they plan to rework the wings? What else? Bo Roberts
  5. Excellent work on the choppers, especially the AH-1W. I only wish that Italeri did a good of a job on the kit as you did on their model. Italeri molded the main rotor blade 'backward", where it turns in the wrong direction. It can be fixed. Bo Roberts
  6. When will Airfix ever make a 48th scale Vulcan?? Now that'd be nice!! Bo Roberts
  7. In 48th scale. AH-1G, UH-1H, UH-1C/M, OH-6A, CH-54, and the one that trained alot, OH-13G. The Italeri verisons ...... SUCK!! Bo Roberts
  8. Yeah, I have it. It has the high skids of a commerical Huges a/c and not that of a OH-6. Should be easy to mod tho. Bo Roberts
  9. My two cents. ESCI is a better repesentation of a UH-1 D/H than is Italeri. Italeri's cargo door is better that ESCI's. Italeri's engine inlets is wrong for the US ARMY bird. The Italeri has a rotor, main and tail, of a UH-1N or commercial 212, and NOT a D/H model. Do NOT use the Wire Strike Protection System on a Vietnam era aircraft!! So, it takes two models to get the closest to a UH-1D/H configuration. Oh how I wish SOMEONE would make a good UH-1D/H, C/M, AH-1G, and OH-6A in 48th scale!! The Vietnam era helicopters have been long overlooked by kit mfgs.!!! Bo Roberts
  10. The Whiskey has gotta be one of the best looking Snake, ever! If it looks good, it flies good. Bo Roberts
  11. Need a little help from my Modeling friends. Does anyone have an actual photo of the 498th FIS F-86D 'Big VIV', tail number 3997?? I have artist renderings of this aircraft from three sources, two of which are decal sheets form Micro Scale and Strike Eagle. These are different from each other and I need a photo to tell which is accurate. BTW, the time frame is the 1956 Air Gunnery Meet at Yuma, AZ. I'll looked thru my library references and can't find anything. Thought maybe one of you might just have an answer for me. TIA, Bo Roberts

Murph doesn't understand how Bo has managed to post 26 times when he can't figure out how to reply in this forum. Regards, Murph I'm a little slow, ok?? Be kind to an old fart!! U'll be there someday, too. Bo Roberts

Bo, Seeing as you seem to be the person most upset and in-tune with this flaw, perhaps you could tell us? I don't really think it looks all that bad. It's no worse than the misshapen nose of the Hasegawa Me-109 - which is also one of those things that most people can't seem to see. Frank ( Dry as an english joke. .) If Bo can't tell you, allow me. The Trumpy kit cannot pass the ruler test, can't even come close. Put a ruler on the belly keel fairing in each of the photos of real Tomahawks below, then do the same on your trumpy kit. All that stuff below the line (cowling flaps except
  14. Would we, ALL MODELERS, be better served if we'd think before we put something down on our wish list?? Sure, I'd take 'em all!! However, if we limited our list to only two or three subject, then the mfgrs. might have a better feel for what will sell and what will not. Currently, it appears everyone is putting down anything that pops into their mind. Not many repeater listed so far!! Here' my two, in 48th scale, of course: AH-1G and OH-6A. Alright!! A Hunter/Killer team!! Bo Roberts
  15. Bell ARH??? Well, do you know what it's gonna look like when it rolls down the assembly line??? Being that they're still designing the darn thing, I'd say you don't!! Sounds like Italeri subject!! Why not something that's already in production, or better yet, outta production!! Rant off. Bo Roberts
  16. Geees!! I luv it when pollsters tell me what I want!! None of the above!! How's about a 48th AH-1G Cobra!! OH-6 Loach CH-47 Chinook UH-1 H/D, yes I know about those already released. I want new tooled kit, form Roden!! They seem to be doing some of the best work now days!! And even and ne UH-1C/M would be nice to replace the old Monogram kit!! Did I say, all in 48th scale?? Of course. Bo Roberts

    Trumpeter P-40B

thank you Erwin! didnt know you also were in here Here is mine in the works - I had a setback during decaling that led to it needing to be stripped - that wasn't trumpters fault.. Bo is all wet - it's a decent kit if you are willing to do some fairly basic work on it. The worst problem is the pit. If you aren't one of these guys who has blown a gasket over the pit needing to be replaced, you are going to like the build. If you want to fill in the rivets you can use mr surface dabbed on. It's real easy, it just takes a little time. My Trumpeter P-40B article Regards, --Fran

Veeerrry Inter-resting!! Total lack of built-up kits on ARC!! I'm seen 'bout as many Vigilantes as I have Tomahawks from Trumpeter!! If that tells you anything. Bo Roberts
  19. Man, you're talkin' my language!! Helicopters have NOT been getting attention of Mfgrs. as have the starch wings!! Before all us old Vietnam vets are long gone, I wish SOMEBODY would make a good 48th UH-1D/H, AH-1G, UH-1B/C, OH-6A and others, too. The CH-47s have been long overlooked, too. I can help!! Bo Roberts
  20. Nothing is impossoble, but why not just start with a D/H airframe? The D/H is available in nearly all scales execpt 1/24th. Bo Roberts
  21. Major undertaking! Jack it up and run a D model under it. Bo Roberts

    Has or Tam?

Some resins from Ultracast, spinner, flaps, etc., will make the Hasegawa into a great kit. Or, you could just get the Tamiya kit!! Built 'em both. Bo Roberts
  23. Mike, I don't know who makes the radiator for the Trump kit, cause when I heard they were not make a spinner also, I lost interest. Yes, AMTech may come to the rescue, but they're having problems getting anything out these days. Be it casued by health issues or something else entirely?? I'm still hoping that Tamiya will pop one on us, .... and soon!!! I'll get a case of 'em!! Bo Roberts
  24. Now that's a PROPER response from a Mfg. If there's something in the molding process that can rectify the problem, then do it!! Bo Roberts
