I think the speculation is because the mold has the back cokpit sidewalls. We also have not heard what Revel's 2nd quarter releases are yet. There may still be hope..

What about security? Would LM give the model companies a "false" set of drawings/measurements so as to keep the orginals secure from wrongfull "prying eyes"? Do they really want to tell the world the aircrafts "exact" demensions through a model kit? Reguardless of the publicity. Isnt' there a security factor involved?
-
Here is a tip for you.. Try and sand off the false detail on the instrument coaming. It will look better smooth.
-
The problem for the model companies for this kit is will it sell? Is there enough demand for it? Whats your take on this? Hey Dave.. What company said that a new mold was in the works?
-
I hope they tool it in Korea and not in China, like there f-18E kit..

Has anyone tried this: 1. Clean and future canopy. 2. Mask canopy. 3. Apply more future over the masking to seal it from paint bleed under.

THEY STILL DID NOT GIVE US FULL INTAKE TRUNKS!! I guess they will never get it right.. And whats up with that instrument panel??? It looks WAAAAY too small on the sprue.. And the decal for it does not look right at all.. I also get the feeling that they did not improve the fit of the intakes either. But we will have to wait for someone to build one up to see.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your drawings are BETTER than the kits decal placent guide! It also shows how many stencils RM missed on their superhornet.

Here is my Monogram 1/48 F-104 in Tiger markings. I had to do alot of seam work on it, but the results were to my liking.

Hey Jay.. Keep us informed on this. Sounds interesting. Also let us know what the Testors kit is like building. (if you decide to build it) If the kit works out ok, it would be a good cheap build...

Looks good steve.. Didn't you just LOVE those inlets.. They did a job on my sanding sticks but good

Does anyone have any idea or news about when the new revell 1/48 "F" superhornet will be out? Hopefully by Christmas?

I tried to use Testors LT to "melt" plastic strips into a past that could be used as a filler. However the LT did not even touch the plastic after a few hours? Is Testors LT hot enough to melt small plastic bits into a usable putty mixture?

I have a question about using accelerator. When it hardens the CA in 2 seconds, doesn't it make the CA harder than the plastic, and thus harder to sand? Also does accelerator craze plastic? The reason I ask is that my first experience with accelerator was not a pleasent one.... I went to my hobby store and bought the only accelerator they had. It was a cheap, unknown brand. (only thing they had) When I tried to spray it on a CA seam, it imediatly crazed the surounding plastic. It was at that point that I wrote off using accelerator. But now I want to try it agin. (I have had time to thi

Is there any official word from Revell on when the F/A-18F will be out? I don't see it in there website. I would asume that it would be out by Christmas, just like the Has. "E". Also, do you think a "G" version will be released as well?

I recently shook a bottle of MM Acryl that had alittle dried paint on the inside of the lid (not on the threads). When I tried to airbrush it, I got alot of dried particles on the model's finish. I asume it was because the dried paint in the lid, came off into the paint when I shook the bottle. Thats the reason I try to stir my paints from now on. I don't want to chance having dried particles clogging the brush and getting on the model. So far stirring seems to help....

Which is better for paint? Stir or shake the bottle? Is there any benefit to either? Pro's and con's of doing either of these to a bottle of paint? Scott

How about using clear decal fixative spray (for making your own decals) as a gloss coat? Has anyone used this?

I built them the assembly line way. (both cokpits at the same time, etc.) The REAL tough and long part of the build was putting 4 exhaust together at he same time. Those rods will drive you NUTS!! Also, I assembled the nose gear after the painting so I would not break it off. I had to sand off alot of the sides of the attachment pins on the nose struts to get them to fit in the bay. But them, I almost lost one of them to disaster! It was at my model club meeting. The table was pretty full so I had to put both of the Eagles by the edge of the table. Well one of the guys walked by too close a

It's BOTH.. One is Revell, and the other is Pro Modeler. I got each for $20. I mostly built these kits because I liked the tiger markings that came with both kits. ('Bold tigers' on one and 'Tiger Meet' on the other)

When I get more pics taken I will post them here. I have to borrow my sisters digital camera to do this. Soon though.

Here is the "BOMBED UP" version with the RBF tags added..

Here is the first of the two RM 1/48 F-15E's that I recently finished. This kit was a JOY to build. The only area that I did not like was putting all those stencils and "NO STEP" decals on. Both models were built and decaled at the same time. One aircraft I "bombed up" and the other I left "clean". The "bombed up " one also has a number of RBF tags added. Both kits are OOB.

I use MM Acryl straight from the bottle. Is is thin enough that I usualy don't have to thin it. It runs fine through the AB from 7-20 PSI. I have not had any problems with clogging with this paint. Thats why I use it alot. Because this paint runs so good in the black tip, I thought it would run fine in the tan tip. I don't suspect it will clog because the paint is allready thin enough. I understand that not all paints are the same. Thats why I am looking for someone who specificaly uses ONLY Acryl with the tan or black tips. Thanks for your help.

Hello all.. I am a new member and I am allready loving this forum for advice. ;) So here is my question about Aztek tips.. I currently am using MM Acryl paint that is thinned properly for airbrushing. I am using the black nozzle mostly because everyone here says that is the one to use for acrylics. However, what about using the tan nozzle with acrylics? I head that for some people it works and some say that it clogs the tip. The instructions say 5-10PSI? Does anyone have anu advice for using the tan tip with acrylics? (acryl) Can you spray a fine line with this tip at 10-15PSI without pr
