  1. I just got mine, and they were shipped halfway around the world in double-quick time! Superbly packed, and the castings are exquisite!
  2. @richter111 ... my suggestion: a CO2 tank, the smallest one you can find. All you need to do is pop into any soft drink supply or industrial gases company to refill. I'm sure you can find some way of securing it to your rig.
  3. Welcome to Singapore, Mike! I think you'll find that it's easy to get just about any modeling supplies you need here, and, if I read things correctly and you are not living out of a suitcase, it's just a matter of buying what you need and packing it all to ship back when your stint is over. Tools are easy, it's harder to pack models ... especially if you have a yen for things with long wings. My suggestion would be not to glue the big bits together till you get home ... so what you can probably do is to assemble and paint the cockpit, interior, etc, but leave the wings off until your stuff is
  4. An oldie but goodie ... it's been superceded by the Revell kits, but the shapes are good, and these would make excellent beginner kits, the fit is actually not too bad and detail is not overly exaggerated. Box contents here: Detail's pretty restrained: Here are the major components cut out: On the wing, there is a date of "1983" but I thought that this was a much older mold. Perhaps my memories are playing tricks on me, I recall building one that had a removable armament pack in it, and that's definitely not this kit. I wanted to build it in a wheels-up, "clean" configuration, s
  5. I'd like to join, if I may, with a Hunter. Trying to build something simple to get out of a bit of a rut, so thinking of the following: - Single color, so one that comes to mind is the Black Arrows aerobatic team - The Airfix kit is an FGA.9, so I have to do some surgery on the parabrake housing - The Airfix kit comes with the correct roundels (though not sure about size), but the fin flash is not the slanted type, so I gotta figure something out there - The aircraft will be done wheels up, IMHO aerobatic models on wheels look a bit sad ... they should be in their element, performing! - T
  6. He has not answered my last couple of emails ... so for me it's 8 months and counting. I do hope that he eventually gets around to shipping what he owes several of us here, and if he could get to the post office to ship GregS's kit, I wonder why not more ? Especially in my case where in his last email in December, things were "boxed up and ready to ship". Sigh. Tom, we understand you have issues, but please clear this up ... at the very least, maintain your integrity and reputation, if it's as important to you as you have said to me.
  7. Davew6003, did you say you were trading with him in December ? Emails from him have been sporadic, and I was under the impression that he was recuperating. I have a deal with him going back to June last year that he has not completed yet, and he said he would sort things out as soon as he could, but he has not answered my last couple of emails. Our email exchanges had been quite good, and a few people have spoken up for him in this forum (on "Good Trader"), but he has been promising to complete our deal for some time now (and it's not a small transaction either). I'll shoot him another emai
  8. If anyone has an Italeri or AMT KC-135R, and would like to build variants using the J57 or TF33, you're in luck. I have 2 sets of the engines (1 set each J57 and TF33), and want a set of CFM56 for my AMT KC-135 ... I propose we do a swap, I send you both J57 and TF33 sets, you send me CFM56, we each pay postage from our end ... I'm in Singapore. Cheers, Eric
  9. Breadboard is a great seller, dealt with him several times, always above board (!), he always goes beyond expectations ! Buy with confidence !
  10. Nice progress so far, Laurent. In all the Matchbox kits I had, there were only 2 different types of pilots ... a "jet" pilot with bone dome and oxygen mask covering the nose and mouth, and a "propeller" pilot with leather cap. Sort of like the cloned Jango Fett in Star Wars ... all absolutely identical !
  11. Cockpit looks suitably busy, Thommo, looking forward to the rest of the build !
  12. Hi mods, I also have a partially built kit, please see image below : Is this eligible ? Most bits are not done, and the fuselage still needs a lot of work (more puttying, sanding and panel line scribing).
  13. It's sad to hear about all these things ... in my case, Glenn went out of his way to help me get something (that he did not sell directly) a few years back, and in appreciation I ordered a resin part from him even though I had no plans to use it. All arrived on time and safely, I was charged correctly and fairly (no "uplift" on postal charges that I can remember). I met bartkoh the other day and told him of my experience as well, and I agree with one of the posters here ... they have good products, and if they can clear up their reputation, the orders would flow in. I reckon that C-5 is hig
  14. Will be following this build with interest, that seat looks neat, you did a great job with it.
  15. Chris, I'm parking myself here, this is one of my intended future builds ! Just waiting to be able to devote the time to getting the details right, there's a lot in a Trumpeter Bearcat. I'll have to send off an order to Red Pegasus for the decals, did not realize they made it, and was thinking of masking the scheme out myself !
