  1. Good job on the Swoose. It has been on my "Need to Build" list for quite sometime. My grandfather flew the Swoose when he was stationed in Italy at the tail end of WWII. In fact, it was his assigned aircraft. I built that kit way back in 1978 and handpainted the nose art from pictures he took in 1945. Needless to say, I was very excited when Superscale came out with those markings a few years ago. I need to get on that project sooner than later as my grandfather just celebrated his 89th birthday last week and it's been a long time since my 8th grade attempt at that model! Kirk Taylor
  2. There is a Portugese F-86F in the Royal Armaments Museum in Brussels. If I remember correctly, it has the F-40 wing on it. It definitely has the leading edge slats. You should be able to find some images of it online. Kirk Taylor
  3. Check out the Aires J-57 engine for the Hasegawa F-8 Crusader. I haven't tried matching it up with the Trumpeter F-100 kits for size, but it certainly looks the part and should be useful for other projects as well. ( Monogram F-102 for sure!) Kirk Taylor
  4. Saw that stuff at the Nationals while visiting with Mike. It is all outstanding! You guys have some definate winners with those subjects and the quality of work. I could really use the F-16 wheels and the F-22 stuff will transform the Academy kit. Looking forward to the releases... Kirk Taylor
  5. Have you seen Wolfpack Designs resin ALQ-167? It is product number 48129. Check out their website for pictures and pricing. You should be able to get one from Sprue Bros. or Lucky Model. http://www.wolfpack-d.com/ Kirk Taylor
  6. Would anybody like to swap Hasegawa 1/48 scale Drakens? I have the Finnish Draken kit #09905 that I would like to trade for the S35E/RF-35 kit # 09872. My kit is opened but the internals are still sealed. Thanks, Kirk Taylor
  7. Can someone spare the clear parts from the old 1980s vintage Revell 1/32 scale F-18? Thanks, Kirk Taylor
  8. Does anybody have a Two Bobs # 32-020 F-15E Saddam Hunters decal sheet that they wouldn't mind parting with? If so, let me know your price and payment preference. Thanks, Kirk Taylor
  9. Thanks guys for the info.....
  10. Does anyone know if Trumpeter intends to do a Su-24MR, Fencer E, in 1/48 scale? I asked the Stevens rep at the Nationals and he didn't know. There are some interesting decal options available from Authentic Decals and I am wondering if I need to do a conversion to the current Su-24M or just wait a bit for another Trumpeter release. Better yet, maybe someone knows of an aftermarket conversion in the works... Thanks, Kirk Taylor
  11. Anybody ever see this? http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/mod/br/...canopreview.htm I have the British version of this kit and it is very nice.....
  12. Looks like the Blues are using a mix of A and C Hornets. Is that new this year or have they been doing it a while? Thanks for posting the pics, Kirk
  13. Does anyone have a 1/48 scale EF-111A vertical tail that they would be willing to part with? I would prefer one from an Academy kit but one of the other knock-offs might work. I would pay postage and can also offer a standard F-111 tail in trade. Thanks, Kirk Taylor
  14. Thanks for the input guys. I have a couple of True Details seats that I'll probably use. I agree on the set not being very well executed, to say the least. ( I'm being polite on this one for the Christmas Season ) Live and learn I guess..... Kirk
  15. I recently purchased a Verlinden 1/32 scale cockpit detail set for the Revell RF-4C kit and it only came with one seat. Is that the way Verlinden actually sells it? The box photo only shows one seat but everyone knows that Phantoms are a two seat aircraft. Any input would be appreciated. I'm looking to see if I have a legitimate complaint or if it's a case of buyer beware. Thanks, Kirk Taylor
  16. Stew, I am pretty sure I have a set of the rubber tires and wheels from the 1/32 Revell F-15E. I am positive that they were the same as the F-15C kit because they are from the original issue from 1982. They are from a kit I built in high school that the nose gear kept breaking on. I finally broke the gear legs out and closed the doors and gave it to an old girlfriend's nephew to hang from the ceiling. Let me look when I get home tonight. I know where they're at so the only issue will be if I have all three. I will send them to you so you won't have to do any casting. Kirk Taylor
  17. I've been looking for the Superscale sheet, 32-54, myself. Anyone have one available? Thanks, Kirk Taylor
  18. I'm looking for Micro/Super scale decals number 32-54 "Top Gun #2 ". Anyone have one they can live without? Thanks, Kirk Taylor
  19. Heard that the F-86 is a re-box of the Kinetic kit. Maybe the F-84 is as well. p.s. Storm, glad that the OTBH is not showing and home is!
  20. Here's my question.... What was the bureau number of Felix 112 on the last cruise to the gulf in 2005-2006? I was minding my own business at Al Udeid one day in January of 2006 and happened to see Felix 112 take off to return to the boat. I snapped a couple of pics and watched it climb out of sight knowing that it would more than likely be the last time I would see a Tomcat fly. I would like to eventually build a model of this bird and having the correct bureau number would be a plus. Also, were there any aircrew names carried in the AOR and what were they for 112? Thanks, Kirk Taylor
  21. I'm looking for a set of Twobobs 48-018 A-4E/F Topgun Tinkertoys decals. I can buy them or trade for them. I have Twobobs 48-017 Heinemann's Hotrods that I am willing to trade. [EDIT: I am really just looking for one option from the sheet. I am looking for the first plane, the brown and tan A-4 with the number "32" on the nose. Thanks, Kirk Taylor
  22. Somebody "stole" parts from an RF-4C at an active US Air Force base? I'm sure that that never happens.... Kirk Taylor
