All those who build the 1/48th Blackhawks
Helo_Dud replied to Helo_Dud's topic in Helicopter Modeling
Thanks for the answers guys. What I'm really after is...I'm looking into making the H' sidewall as a master for all the 1/48th Blackhawk kits. My question is are all the kits pretty much the same or do the very from each other. Happy Modeling, Joe -
I'm looking into building the interior sidewall section at the gunners window, the H' section bulkhead/Broom closet? Anyhow are the 48th kits cut from the same mold, are there differences between the kits around the ceiling and floor. I have the Minicraft MH60G Hawk kit which has a weird cut out on the floor piece behind the pilots seats. Thanks a bunch!!! Happy Modeling, Joe

Well I got her finished. I was able to get done Friday afternoon. After which I finish off another a project that I started sometime ago. Both projects were going to be entered into a IPMS contest, so both were packed and stacked into a car pooling vehicle and left town. The results… First place in 1/35th soft skin post Korean. First place in Scratchbuilt/Major Conversion all scales. Best Armor for the M1117 HUMVEE HA. My second entry was a Scratchbuilt M984A1 wrecker. If your interested in looking at the progress photos then look here. M984A1 Here is a link to ma

Thanks Austin, Steve and Gino! I just had a look at your progress Medevac Hawk Gino, great stuff. Happy Modeling, Joe

Looking great Gino, I knew you’d be the first to start one before me…I know you love to build them Blackhawks. As for the two D-shaped handles on the ends that lock it in place and allow the carousel to rotate, I did make them up initially but decided not to add them as the D handles were to small to cast and the carousel rods were easier to make up using sprue or rod. I need to contact Floyd on the issue which was something I forgot to mention. As to the bulkhead, I took the measurements from the Medevac Blackhawk that I got the rest of the reference from. Again looking super and wil

Here is one of my current armor projects, Bronco’s 1/35 M1114 Up Armored HUMVEE. I plan to make this into a diorama. I will also scratch build a steel truss bridge using internet reference searched under Iraq steel bridges. Dio setup…Humvee parked just short of the mouth of the bridge, EOD figure walking out over the bridge, second figure setting up robot and the third scanning the sector. The figures a from Black Dog’s EOD sets. I did a little work to the back wall by adding in sliding doors and used cigarette foil. These photos show some of the wiring and the interior finished

Do you have more kits than you'll ever be able to build?
Helo_Dud replied to Scooter Man's topic in General Discussion
Well I'm 50 and retired out early. I build between 10-11 models a year. Not only do I build Aircraft I also build Armor. My stash is quite large. Building as much as I do....no I will not get to build them all. Heck I will still be buying new kits coming out. What will happen to my kits you may wonder, well I see them out on the front lawn selling between 50 cents and $5 dollars once I'm gone. Sad fact ain't it. Happy Modeling, Joe -
Ok I wanna play, time frame Desert Storm flying a A-6 Intruder. Bounce 20 years, this time F/A-18F during OIF/OEF. Happy Modeling, Joe

Yeah it seems off color, sort of looks like the color the Huey's had in their last years. I see some of you expressed that you would like to see this set in 1/48th. I would be willing to give it a shot if the casters were interested in the idea. I will say that the level of detail will be some what less, but then again who knows. Happy Modeling, Joe

Hey guys I’m looking to dump some kits, I’ll be fair and will sell cheap. Also I’ll pay half the shipping costs here in the U.S. I’m also keeping this in the US due to the high postage costs. A.E.F. Designs “Puma IIâ€, it’s a complete that has Friulmodel metal track, rubber tracks and Tamiyas Merkava running gear, item no. # KC-103. It is a nice kit but there are a few broken pieces. No real big deal as these can be easily repaired. It’s not a kit for the beginner…trust me. The cheapest I found one as of the 4th of June was $185, so it can be yours for $70 dollars, yep $70 dol
