  1. Greetings, In preparing the side vents I discovered not all vents are the same when come to the dimension. Some are square while others have rectangular shapes. I wonder if this is due to different variants like MK 4,5 or 6? Dai
  2. Hi all, I should have taken advise from Tony instead of going ahead with the tanks pylons. The picture of the Canada Aerobatic Team shows the pylons are at much more toward the center line than the kit's location. The red line is where the kit has you installed the pylons. But yet in some other Mk 6 photos, the pylons are not so as far inward. Are there different positions where the tanks are to be attached? The second photo I believe is the MK 6 with more outward position than the first. The third also shows more outward positions of the pylons. Dai
  3. Thank you so much and I will close them. Please let me know what else before I start painting the plane this week. Dai
  4. Hi all, Still waiting for the sugar scoops to arrive from CZ. In the mean time rescribe some lost panel lines and painted some areas. Dai
  5. Hi all, Added both side fuselage vents. Still waiting for the sugar scoops to be arrived from Czech. Dai
  6. With the top fuselage vent completed and that experience gave me valuable practice to do the fuselage sides. MK6 does not look right without the sugar scoops or side vents. Interestingly not all side vents are identical to each others. Some have more square then being rectangular. Dai
  7. Hello all, Not happy with the top fuselage air vent so I refined the outline (the kit's is not accurate) for better accuracy. The sloped ramp was glued via CA from outside with the correct angulation then sanded smooth. The corners of the top fuselage toward the nose is rounded as opposed to the ones on the sides of the fuselage. This rounded feature was created by a tiny dab of thick CA into the corners. Now I do not have to deal with the ugly seam that tend to plaque many of the online builds. Dai
  8. Thank you Tony and I will take care of that right away. Also will need to replace lost panel lines. Dai
  9. Hi all, Ready to paint the top colors. Will deal with sugar scoops when they arrive from Czech. I was lucky to secure 2 Flightdecs decal sheets with the scoops through LF Models. These are much more accurate than the AMS ones. The slats are just tacked on via white glue for photos. Dai
  10. Hi all, I heard on ARC there is a rumor a 1/48 Sabre with slats are coming ! If that is true for the love of God do the A version as it is sorely needed in this scale. The E is too close to the F. Any comments? Dai
  11. I am doing a 1/48 Hasegawa MK 6 with KASL slats and other add ons (see my build). Please for the love of God do the A version ! Dai
  12. Just a rumor right? No companies have said so. Dai
  13. Hi all, I emailed them many times requesting PP invoice to no avail. So looks like out of bussiness. Too bad someone did not pick up their decal line as they seem to be in high quality. Luckily I was able order 2 remaining F-86 sheets from LF Models in CZ. Dai
  14. Howdy, The German MK 6 used Martin Baker ejection seat meaning the F-40 seat is not accurate. There are ample of 1/48 MB resin seats on the market so which one should I buy? Dai
  15. Hi all, Some more from the link provide some insights into the MK 6. The MK 6 has much difference in fuselage panel lines. One interesting thing is on the German plane, the demarcation between the green and the grey is soft. But yet between this and the underside blue is hard. I wonder if this is due to restoration at the museum paint shop? If so during its operational life, that will make my painting much easier. Dai
  16. Hi all, The German MK 6 has the Martin Baker seat so opening and closing of the canopy has a different path than the F-40. That means positioning the rear canopy straight back is not accurate then? This photo is from the link. Dai
  17. Hi all, I found an excellent link offering Sabre photos. Dai https://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?/topic/22710-f-86-f-sabre-detail-photos/
  18. Hi all, I need the after market parts to convert the F86 F to the A model. Will pay top dollars. Please let me know. Dai
  19. Hi all, I sent email inquiry on placing an order for some decals but got no responses. This company is located in Canada. Any comments? Dai https://flightdecs.ca/
