  1. That sounds like there is a good chance it will be in Baddeck on the 23rd for the 100th Anniversary of Flight in Canada Celebrations.

    Canadian C-17

How about after Canadians that served in RFC/RAF/RCAF and won the VC. Billy Bishop (RFC) William Barker (RFC) Alan MacCloud (RFC) Andrew Mynarski (RCAF) Ian Bazaligett (RAF) David Hornell (RCAF) Hampton Grey (RCNVR) I doubt any of this any of this will ever happen, giving the Canadian Government's poor track record in recognizing and taking pride in Canada's military history.
  3. Here is a few photos from earlier this week of 406 Sqn. Sea King doing water landing training. Cheers,
  4. The U.S. Coast Guard arrived at Halifax International yesterday bring 3 HH-60Js and 2 MH-68s. I have herd rumors they are conducting off the coast over the next few days. Sorry about the quality of the pictures the weather wasn't the best for photos today and I edited them on my laptop. Here is some of the action I photographed a couple of weeks ago around IMP's new Hangar. The last 4 Egyptian AF Commandos under refurbishment by IMP, the silver airframe is an Egyptian AF Sikorsky VH-3A. A Norwegian Air Force P-3 in the final stages of refurbishment. It was just a matter of days
  5. With Clear skies this morning I thought I would go out and take photos of some Ospreys (the feathered variety). Driving toward the nest, the little voice in my head kept telling me to head out to YHZ. I ignored that little voice and about a half hour latter I photographed this RAF VC 10 and 4 Harriers climbing out of Halifax International and heading east. Sorry about the quality but they were probably around 3 or 4 miles away. I jumped in the car and headed out to the airport praying that there was a second flight preparing to leave. No such luck. I did however catch this Cormorant

    A Day at YHZ

Thanks, Everyone for your kind comments. I Have been trying for a couple of years to catch an Egyptian Commando in flight. The project is winding down with only 2 or 3 Commandos and a VH-3 left to be refurbished. Cheers, Kzee

  8. Hello, I finally have a day off with good weather so I thought I would spend a few hours aircraft spotting at Halifax International. Here a few photos from a rewarding day. CHC Puma CAF Polaris Egyptian Commando outside IMP new hangar Commando heads out on a test flight Last one
  9. Hello, Just thought I would share a few photos I took today at Halifax International. These Two RAF Typhoons are Transiting back to England from Nellis. They arrived just before dark on Wednesday Evening. Sorry about the quality the weather did not want to co-operate for pictures. Rumor has it that they wiil be here till Saturday Morning, hopefully I can get back out to the airport tomorrow when the weather suppose to be better. Cheers, P.S. Notice the rudders being in different positons.
  10. The seat was donated to the museum by a former pilot with 434 Squadron. It was presented to him on his retirement. The seat itself is from a Voodoo and has been modified into a glider rocker, before it was presented to the pilot.
  11. Hello, Here is a photo of 783 as she looks today tightly sqeezed in under the Silver Dart replica and next to the former Coast Guard Bell 206. The RWR receivers are no longer on the airframe, But the equipment is sill in the cockpit. Sean, I sent you a PM Cheers, Ken
  12. Just thought you would like to know that 104738 surrvived the scrapper torch and now calls the Atlantic Canada Aviation Museum home. The aiframe is in excellent shape and is complete right down to the M61 cannon. I haven't been out to the museum in a while but I am pretty sure the RWR have been removed most likely before the aircraft came to the museum. I will see if I can dig up some photos of 739 as it looks today. Cheers,
  13. Spending the Holiday Season at Halifax International Airport, snuggled warmly amongst a hangar full of King Airs, various models of Cessnas, and a couple of Bell 206 and a PC-12. I found two of Top Aces Alpha Jets tucked away at the back of IMPs Shell hangar. It is my under standing that Top Aces leases the jets from Execaire a division of IMP Aerospace. The over crowed hangar made it impossible to get a clean picture of the Alpha Jets without having a wing tip or two in the way. Cheers,
  14. Hey Cheetah, According to the Snowbirds 2007 Schedule they are appearing in Moncton on June 16 & 17. Have you herd if Moncton is having an air show or is just a Snowbird demo? It would be great to see the another airshow back in Maritimes. I miss the old days when you could go to at least 1 airshow a month during the summer.
  15. I saw Sea King 124137 sitting on the ramp out side IMP early November. Other than the previous mention step there are not any really noticeable differences. Unfortunately it was no in a good location to get photos of it. Talking to a friend who worked on the conversion most of the changes were internal such as a beefed up floor and troop seats. Many of the mods that were initially discussed were later not implemented. It seems that they would have made it very difficult to convert them back to the ASW roll if the test did not prove successful.
