  1. Well, After some painting tests, I've experimented this conclusions: The the only satisfactory result was MM Metalizer over gloss enamel... When applied direct over an acrylic gloss paint, it lose that natural metal appearence and looks like a normal aluminium paint. Take a look in this pics (please type http:// before): paginas.terra.com.br/negocios/firststep/fotos/metalizer_1.jpg paginas.terra.com.br/negocios/firststep/fotos/metalizer_2.jpg Thank you all, who gave me some help!!!
  2. I'm very curious to use Alclad... but here in Brazil it's hard or better "impossible" to find!!! Do you Believe??? :D Do you know somebody who could send me the ALCLAD??? :) hehehehe... so.. I still have to use MM Metalizer... :P Thank you!!!
  3. I really do agree with you!!! I think it don't need, but I concerned about decals applied direct over the Metalizer layer.... Do you have any suggestion for that??? In the other hand, I think even a very shine, clear and gloss coat leaves the real metal appearence away!!! :)
  4. Here we go again... So, do you recommend or use any clear gloss coat over Model Master Metalizer or Alclad??? Such as Clear Acrylic gloss coat or even Future.... I'm making an Airliner aircraft wich has the lower fuselage in natural aluminium... How can I will "protect" de decals if I can't use this kind of coat? Actually, there are decals to be applied over polished metalizer paint. thanks
  5. jrallman: Thank you man!!! But I'm curious...... in terms of values wich pressure do you use in particular in this kind of painting? Thanks
  6. Actually I use a "home made air compressor system" (beautiful name, no? hehehe), and it doesnt have an manometer to indicate the air pressure... so I don't know the pressure I'm using... by the way... wich is the appropriate pressure for this kind of painting??? Could be the pressure the only problem??? Thanks
  7. Some Pics... don't pay atention in the surface finishing... it's a simple old kit piece... only for tests... hehehhe Please type http:// before these links: paginas.terra.com.br/negocios/firststep/fotos/paint_1.jpg paginas.terra.com.br/negocios/firststep/fotos/paint_2.jpg Thanks....
  8. Hi All I have just made a painting test with Tamiya acrylic paint. It seems to be a little bit "Granulated". Much different from enamel... such I usually use... I used: Tamiya X-2 Gloss White Tamiya Thinner X-20A to thin 50% What I'm doing wrong??? The mix ratio??? Low pressure on Airbrush??? "future" finishing layer can correct it to nice and bright white??? Many questions, no??? hehehehe Thanks
  9. Great Job on the 737!!! I'm also making a Airfix 737-200. And I'm making modifications.... I'll represent it just a little after takeoff. So I made the takeoff flaps and slats settings. The landgear will be in "travel" from extended to the retract position... Another thing that I had to make was the nose, like I did in the 727 (see the pics in my reply above), because it was much different from the real one... Soon I'll take some photos and I'll post them.... Leanjk
  10. Thank you all !!!!!! <_<
  11. Hi... it's me again  Wich is better to dilute Tamyia acrylic paint using airbrush? water or alchool? What is the ratio?? Thanks again....
  12. Hi All: Any problem using Model Master Metalizer over an acrylic base paint??? Thanks a lot
  13. The paint looks good to me too, but I'm concerned about the yellowing over time... as I experimented with the same ennamel paint. But now I feel safe to make this "acrylic experience"... hehehhehe Thank you David!!!
