Good start for sure! Dump photobucket and try imgur. Much better and faster. Looking forward to more pics! Rob

My preferred acrylics are Tamiya, Gunze Aqueous, Akan, LifeColor, Vallejo Model Color, and Citadel (Games Workshop). I have some stock of each of these and use them all on almost every build. I don't touch the Vallejo Model Air as I just can't get along with them. I had some and sold them all off! In my experience - regarding the hairline cracks with Gunze Aqueous, it happens if they aren't allow to fully cure. I had the same issue with them cracking when I hand painted some Vallejo Model Color over them (some cockpit detail). Once I let the paint fully cure, I had no more issues (even

AK Interactive Air Series Acrylic paints
galileo1 replied to Andrew Maverick Taylor's topic in Tools 'n' Tips
I haven't personally used these but I have seen (video builds) people use both Tamiya X-20A and Vallejo thinners with it. Like the AMMO line of paints, AK recommends their own thinner for optimum results though. Based on what I've seen, the do dry in the tip but, honestly, that's goes for almost all acrylic paints. Isn't (or wasn't) BB Rich the manufacturer of Iwata and Tamiya airbrushes as well? I thought I read somewhere than they were. Rob

That's funny, Paul. I ordered my HP-CH from him yesterday. Glad you had good dealings with this seller. Rob

I purchased the CM-C plus v. 2 directly from Japan. It has performed flawlessly since I've purchased it. I went with the CM-C plus specifically because of the .23 mm nozzle and because of the wider trigger. I don't find it at all uncomfortable as is extremely well balanced and I find the MAC valve to be very useful. Mine only gets used when I need to do fine detailed painting (post shading, streaking, tight camo, etc). I've purchased three Iwatas from Japan to date and I've yet to get anything but the best service from all of the Japanese sellers I have dealt with. In fact, one brush I p

Do the Kfirs come with those as well? Need to check mine at some point. Edit: Mope, it's all clear.

AMK will release a Super Etendard 1/48
galileo1 replied to Martin @ AMK Models's topic in Jet Modeling
That's actually good to know (about the SUE being at a more advanced stage). No problem, I'll order a couple when they come out. And yes, I think we're all dying to see those F-14 CADs. Rob -
Jim, Do you think your gloss technique will work over things painted over either with Tamiya or the Aqueous stuff? I'm thinking that it shouldn't be an issue but was just curious. I'm keen to try this over the Predator I'm working on. Thanks! Rob

I only said within a year because you need to release ALL of the F-14s first Rob -
AMK will release a Super Etendard 1/48
galileo1 replied to Martin @ AMK Models's topic in Jet Modeling
Personally, I'm certain Kinetic's Super Etendard is very nice. However, comparing some of the Kinetic kits I have (recent releases) to AMK's MiG-31, well, there's simply no comparison. Detail definition is so high on the MiG-31 my GWH Mig-29s are having a hard time competing with it. Like I stated earlier, if the same is done on the AMK Super Etendard, then there's no reason not to wait for it (unless you really want to build one within the next year or so - in which case choosing the Kinetic kit is a no-brainer). AMK will release a Super Etendard 1/48
galileo1 replied to Martin @ AMK Models's topic in Jet Modeling
I was going to get the Kinetic one but I much rather wait for AMK to come out with one. After what they did with the MiG-31, they'll blow away whatever else is out there. Rob -
I use these two: The Robart shaker is really good. You do have to be a bit careful as it tends slide around when operating (I always hold it down) but, other than that, it's great! Rob

Hi all, I completely missed the boat on this one and I can't seem to find a copy so if you happen to have a spare or can part with one I would love to take it off your hands. I can do Paypal or any method you prefer. Please let me know either here via a PM or at [scalemodeling@hotmail.com] Just in case, here's the sheet I'm looking for: Thanks very much! Rob

Best post I've read on here! Superbly stated! Rob

I could NOT have said it better!! I'm in complete agreement with John! Rob

With all due respect, Raymond, but don't you think that's a bit too harsh? It's your business, of course, but why deprive your customers of such kits? I picked your outfit over Hobby Easy for a reason. Rob

So wait, are you saying you won't carry AMK products in the future? If so, that's too bad. Rob
