The instructions do indeed look complex but with the exception of the spine - which I think it’s just not right - I may give this kit a try. Looks alright overall. I’m sure someone in the aftermarket industry will tackle that spine and other areas needing attention. Looks better than the Trumpy kit I think.

Will AMK be giving the kit away for free or something to warrant any kind of punishment? A company punishing it's potential customers because some gave said company some "crap" or "flak"? LOL! SMH...

This is pretty disappointing. I was dead set on this kit when I saw the pics by AFV. Guess my Hawk kit will survive after all.

I’m sorry but what is your issue? If you don’t want to talk about any of this then don’t! You’re free to scroll down the jet modeling page for other topics if you want. If there are NO issues (or very minor issues) with the final production version of this kit then we’ll all be happy, right? But what if what we see now is what will ship out to people? These errors aren’t just on the so-called resin mock up. The IFR area looks to be the same on real plastic. If you want to fawn all over AMK or if you’re afraid of making them mad then skip this whole thing and wait for the kit to be relea

Well, when you like something a lot like I do Tomcats and kits done “properly” that’s the result. If AMK has indeed rectified the issues posted here and elsewhere I’ll be more than happy to purchase several.

And lose all the detail on them while at the same time making them look “soft” and uneven? Nah. I’ll stick to kits that ar done at least semi competently. These plates are just one of many issues with this kit as it stands now. Might as well build a HB kit then...

All I’ll say is that if this is what AMK will ship out as the final, production kit then I’m sorry, they missed the mark enormously here. If not, then I think at this point, for their own benefit, they should really try to show the kit as is in its current state. Yes, people will still buy it regardless...but how many? I purchased a total of 16 Tamiya Tomcats. Please tell me AMK, why would I chose you over Tamiya at this point? The deployed wings aren’t enough anymore at this stage...

Those tail stiffeners look awfully thick IMO...

I’ll sign that petition. Although I have 2 of the Black knights Tomacts in the stash I’d put them out to pasture if Tamiya ever releases a new mould 1/32 F-14. I’m sure it won’t happen though.

Is Flightdecs in Ontario, Canada still in business? Was thinking about ordering a sheet from them but they haven’t really been updating their site so I’m wondering. Thanks.
