  1. For acrylics I use Vallejo Airbrush cleaner and for enamels/lacquers I use regular store-bought lacquer thinner. I guess one could use lacquer thinner for everything but I had a bad experience (severe clogging) spraying acrylics after using lacquer thinner to clean my airbrush. I tend to separate them now. Rob
  2. Rebelalpha is a great ebayer. All of my ebay decals have come from him. No issues at all in the 20 or so time I've done business with him. Rob
  3. Thanks for the link! Preordered two. Rob
  4. My preferred for airbrushing are Gunze Aqueous, Tamiya, Akan, and LifeColor (as a last resort). For brush-painting, Vallejo Model color. I've tried Vallejo Model Air but I simply can't seem to get along with them. Same with MM Acryl. Rob
  5. You're probably working with either Fightertown or Furball? Can't see any other decal company with more F-14 stuff than these two outfits. Rob
  6. I'm definitely IN! Love the BUFF! Rob
  7. When I used enamels I used to use store-bought lacquer thinner without issues. You can't wipe the plastic with it but you sure can paint with it. I'm almost 100% acrylics now but I started to use lacquer primers and I do indeed like the Gunze Leveling Thinner. Best lacquer thinner I've used. Rob
  8. Emailed re. Fightertown 48060 F-14D Tomcat - VF-2 Bounty Hunters $20 Rob
  9. Thanks much! I have some pics of the cockpit I found somewhwere and they look like the image above. Don't know if it's entirely accurate but I guess I'll go with it. Rob
  10. Hey all, What would be the "appropriate" color for the cockpit of a MiG-15? Building the Trumpeter kit at the moment and they call for a 'blue pearl' color. Some seem to think the cockpit was something like aircraft grey so I'm not sure which one I should go for. If I need this 'blue pearl' color, which paint line offers this in acrylic form? Thanks! Rob
  11. Use Gator acrylic glue. It's the best I've found for fiddily parts. For larger PE I still use CA. Rob
  12. This is why, if I want music, I head over to Youtube to find it, convert the video to an mp3 and then upload it into iTunes. If they take from there, well, I'll get it again. And the circle of life continues. Rob
  13. I've called them on more than one occasion to rectify issues and I'm on the east coast of the U.S. if you want to do business with an overseas vendor sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and call if any issues arise. Email is great and all but not always the best method for some. Rob
  14. Glad Tamiya finally decided to do this one. Been a dream of mine for a long time. I'll get a few of these and AMK's when theirs is out. Love it that we still have plenty of choices! Rob
  15. They're okay but aren't really consistent from bottle to bottle. You can tame them but there's definitely a little bit of a learning curve with them. Rob
  16. So, there weren't any U.S. aviation assets in the area watching the Su-24s doing this? Isn't this boat (USS Donald Cook) part of a carrier battle group or something? Are they that exposed out there? I'm sure they can protect themselves with their weapons systems but, still, a bit surprised there weren't any Super Hornets flying around just in case. Just curious... Rob
  17. HECK YEAH!!! The TwoBobs Adversary Scooter sheets I have aren't even close in terms of colors, etc! Have lots of A-4s in the stash and I'll be getting two or three copies of this one. Rob
  18. Chuck, do you thin the X-22? If so, with what? I've been trying to experiment with X-22 to see how it works. Thanks! Rob
  19. Is the seat size still an issue on the GWH kit? I seem to recall the whole cockpit had some kind of issue with its size. Is this right? Rob
  20. Haven't yet, Saul. But I'll be testing that this weekend. Rob
  21. Thanks again, guys. I did test out the Dr. Mike' CA but it's so thin it runs everywhere. I just purchased some Bob Industries pocket CA glues so I'm hoping these won't go bad right away before I get to use them. Rob
  22. Same here. No issues to report. Got them pretty quickly too. Rob
  23. Thanks guys. Yes, I have both of those tools and they sure are great. I guess the needle in the pin vise is the way to go for what I, trying to do. I just need find good needles. Rob
