  1. I just saw your post and wanted to add a couple things to the HH-47 CSAR-X discussion. The HH-47 was also going to have two hoist , one behind the other. The incident in Korea was during Team Spirit and the two individuals on the forest penetrator that were killed was an A-10 pilot stationed at Osan AB, and a SERE specialist stationed at Fairchild AFB,WA. He was a good friend , a great airman , who never got to see his unborn son. His name was Sgt Roger Ross.
  2. yes if only there was a 1/48 scale conversion for a MH-47E / G I would buy several and wait for the release of the CH-47 kits from Italeri or Revelle
  3. Arty , Thanks brother for the heads up. I just ordered two of them. CC
  4. Ok you got my full attention. I have wanted to do the same thing in 1/35 or 1/48. I got the 1/35 scale conversion from warner wings , but could not find a zodiac in 1/35. Found a zodiac in 1/48 but no conversion for a MH-47 in 1/48. So my first question is ..where did you find a 1/35 zodiac ? Inquiring minds would like to know
  5. Chris , when the new instrument panels are available I would like one to replace the instrument panel I have with MH-60M conversion kit. What is the best method to proceed at this point ? v/r CC
  6. Friday June 12, 2015 6pm North Las Vegas Airport Main Terminal Building Red Flag Scale Modelers Meeting . Hope to see you there
  7. Well you got me there , I am ignorant on the various drones carried on the DC-130 and the accuracy of the kits Firebee drones, so any intel is appreciated. I was asked to build this kit plus 1/48 Global Hawk , Predator, Reaper , and CH-3 as table pieces for a Vietnam unit reunion here in Las Vegas around the November time frame. Since there is no 1/48 CH-3 available, I have to with a 1/72 Revell CH-3C , or fake it with 1/48 Hasegawa SH-3 painted in USAF colors
  8. Does anyone have the OOP Meteor Productions or Cutting Edge DC-130 nose conversion for the 1/48 scale Italeri DC-130 no.820 kit ? I have a C-130 AN/ARD-17 Cook Aerial Tracker Antenna Radome and a HC-130P/N Fulton Recovery Nose for trade. Or I am will to buy it. I am working on a project for a Unit reunion and the DC-130 will be a center piece for the table. Any help will be appreciated. CC

  10. Hey Richard , The Red Flag Scale Modelers Club meets at 6pm the second Friday of each month at the North Las Vegas Airport main terminal. Why not come out and join the group. CC
  11. The billeting facility at Eielson Air Force Base is named Amber Hall in honor of the missing crew.
  12. Please by all means count me in for one CD as well, Do you have an ETA ?
  13. HeavyArty , Take a closer look at the aircraft you labeled HH-60G. The USAF is not known for spending too much time or money on experimental camo for the H-60 fleet, Gunship gray is good enough. You know the old saying, nothing is too good for the troops, and nothing is what they will get. The aircraft pictured is actually a MH-60K. Look at the nose section with more fidelity. CC
  14. I would like to share a little something with the group. There use to be a jokes section , I found it funny and refreshing , so much so that when I was asked to commentate at several military conferences I would print up several months of daily jokes and take them to the joke Nazis and allow them to pick the best 50 or so and I would print them up and place them in a fish bowl. All the guest speakers would come up and pull a joke out of the bowl and read it. it was a hit , and great tension easer for many a guest speaker. But somewhere along the line I was told that someone was offended by a d
  15. Thank you Gino, your illustrations reinforce my comments, And the visual aide says it all,
  16. you build is incredible , but I noticed a mistake common with all MH/HH-60 kits is the aux fuel tank. There are actually two hoses that come off the top of the fuel tanks that go to the main fuel supply and not just the bar representation on top. I know I do not have a picture to illustrate my point, but if you notice Cobra Company MH-60S update kit , his new tank got it right. I will search for a good pic , or perhaps one of the other outstanding helo modelers may already haveone. But as I said in the beginning your build is progress exceptionally
  17. good on you, looking forward to seeing the finish build
  18. all acronyms are made up. there are acronyms for acronyms
  19. you know I am not sure of the cost but it was reasonable cause the items are shipped in a small box. I ordered all the weapons for the MH-47 , numerous helmets, and figures. I will check around for my receipt, But as I said earlier I was very pleased with their service.
  20. beyond the acronym Government Helicopters Operations Supporting Test aka Ghost . there is not much else to say on that subject. I hope you guys understand.
  21. Tim, I have ordered Live Resin parts from them several times and I never had an issue (knock on wood). They are fast , and efficient. Once they left something out of my order that I was not aware of and they immediately notified me via email to let me know the omitted pieces would be arriving shortly. I have been impressed and can safely say purchase with the freedom that they will treat you good. CC
  22. yeah Mason, I knew you were going to call me lol and I am trying to find a cliff notes version way of explaining without going into too much detail. So here we go , The USAF needed to replace the numbers of HH-60Gs lost in combat. The problem was Sikorsky no longer had an UH-60L assembly line open. The latest version was UH-60M. So the Air Force bought a few for evaluation and determine that the "M" was a totally different machine and would be difficult logistically to maintain two version of the Black hawk / Pave hawk and too difficult for pilots to maintain two different proficiency ratings
  23. You know for some strange reason as I looked thru the list of 1/35 scale helicopter models , I could not help but think of Forrest Gump , and shrimp are the fruit of the sea
  24. Wow , impressive. Any history on the seat ? i.e. which tail number. Also are you familiar with the Pave Cave.com web site. If you have no luck here , I am sure there are some guys interested.
