  1. Seeing as the F/A-18A is certainly no longer the latest and greatest in the U.S. Navy, I was wondering if there is any plans for the Navy demonstration team to adopt another plane. Perhaps, the F/A-18E? I have heard little or no discussion about this. Last I heard they were having their fair share of troubles with the aging F/A-18A's they currently operate. Anybody know what is on the horizion for the BA's as far as equipment goes? Tiger
  2. After stocking up on beer today Some much needed paint, and some more brushes Gonna finish my RM F-15E and start on another of my stowed kits over the next week. I'll try not to drink and build...too much I now live more than an hour from a decient hobby shop since I moved three weeks ago, bummer. I suppose I'll survive, I am in college and my fav hobby shop is at home which is 2.5 hours away. Tiger
  3. Came home today and under my carport was a FedEx package from Squadron... Hasegawa 1/72 F-14B "Jolly Rogers Last Flight" It is next on my to build list! I am excited Tiger
  4. Over the past week I picked up... Revell 1/48 F/A-18E Hasegawa 1/48 Weapons Set D Hasegawa 1/48 RF-4B Hasegawa 1/72 F/A-18F Hasegawa 1/72 F/A-18A Blue Angels and about 30 MM Acryl colors oh, I forgot, today I was at Michaels (don't ask) and found a RM 1/48 F-106 which I thought I would pick up since it was like 10 bucks with the 40% off coupon. Looks like the panel lines will need scribing, argggg, that will take a while . And they will sit in the closet till I can finish my current build: Revell's 1/48 F-15E Tiger
  5. I have completed the joining of the wings, intakes, and CFTs to the body. Not exactly a "perfect kit", mine needed some putty at the CFT joints near the intakes. Otherwise it is the best fitting kit I have built! I have also painted the entire sides and uderside. I will have pics in a few days. Sorry I can't load the pics right now but I am in the middle of moving. Packing all my kits and supplies is hell, of course. Hopefully I will come out without too much damage! :) But soon it will all be in place and college classes don't start for 10 days so I will build, hang out, and party til
  6. Hmm, now I want to do a bi-plane  Stellar work. The paint finish is superb, very real. Tiger
  7. I like your rhino. Nice work I hope to start mine after I finish my Revell F-15E Keep the pics comming. Tiger
  8. Quick question guys. Some F-15E's are in an upgrade program to get new LCD displays to replace their old CRTs (already comming in the new F-15K's). I wonder if these new LCDs are just plain black, like most LCDs I have seen? I can't seem to find that new of a photo. Tiger
  9. Yeah, some of the colors are off. I was looking at the reference pics in a book I have, one shows faded gray (nylon?) seat covers. One shows a tan one for the front seat and a gray one for the rear. I am not sure if one is any more correct than the other. The MFDs look a bit darker than they do in the pic though I was planning on going over them with a mix of Tamiya Clear Green and a touch of black. Otherwise I think it matches the photos fairly well. I am going out of town today and tommorrow but I will keep the pics comming once I make more progress. Also, I have finished my 1/72 Ha
  10. I'm blown away! Best scale cockpit I have ever seen. Could pass for the real thing. :o  This kind of stuff can make a modeler faint. Tiger
  11. The seat belts need a little more work. I may scratch build my own.
  12. Just began this kit this afternoon. I have nearly finished the cockpit, it took about five hours. I still need to detail the Ejection handles and bays just behind the heads of the seats. This kit will be completely OOB. Tell me what you think, please!!! Tiger
  13. Justin, Simply amazing work  I got quite a rush Tuesday when Discovery blasted off to the heavens, what a great day. I look at your kit and I see some really great things. One, I see that you are the first person here at the ARC that has gotten the ET colors exactly right. The oranges look just like the oranges in the photos of the real thing. Secondly, you have made those freakin windows look like real darn windows, I am still a bit baffled there. Also, the finishes seem to be dead on with the mix of flats and glosses. Like I say color accuracy is key on shuttles and you ha
  14. geed, Dude you are awesome, hopefully I will get the nerve someday to take this much time on a kit and detail it the way you have done here. At first I thought the landing gear pics were some kind of reference photos of the real thing on a garage floor or something, I even thought that on second look. No kidding I had to study them reeeaaallly hard to make sure the landing gear assemblies weren't picutres of a real life one. outstanding work, don't give up, perservere and keep up the same level of detail throughout and you will have a guaranteed contest winner and a real jewl. I did enjoy
