  1. If you look at the roundel part, it isn't filled in like the typical F-16. It is just an outline. I don't have any F-16 decals like that unfortunately .. looking at this pic below, looks like the TAC badge is a bit off. People can't put decals on properly 😉
  2. Being it is January 17th, figured I would start the thread for my current DS build 😉 … another Hasegawa F-16 This one is going to be 83-1145 "Death Dealer". I'll be using a combination of a couple decal sheets for this one. Not sure what I'm going to do with the insignia. It is a different style than all other F-16s that I've seen. here's how my build looks now. Flaps have been cut and lowered. Used a bit of sheet styrene for just behind the cockpit for the strengthening plate. Not sure if these planes had more at the time. Armament will be 2 Sidewind
  3. it's pretty simple to backdate. Cut off the LASTE stuff on the fins, fill in the hole for the GPS? behind the canopy. You just need to check what kind of radar warning receivers the plane you want to model had. Either keep the 2 nodes on the nose and tail for aircraft with serials later than 78-582; which have the ALR-69 radar warning receivers. If so, another antenna at the base of the tail should get removed. Earlier serials have the ALR-46 radar warning antennas, a blocky thing on the bottom of the nose and tail. The nodes would have to be removed for this and th
  4. https://www.dstorm.eu/pages/loadout/f-15e.html One thing that chart doesn't mention is that the targeting pods were in short supply, so not all jets got them. I believe there was eventually enough for half the planes deployed.
  5. My first jet build in a couple years .. essentially done for now. I will add the boarding ladder, maybe RBF tags later on.
  6. I went through my stash and I only have 2 BLU-27 bombs left 😞
  7. Where you able to get bombs? I may have a few if you still need.
  8. Future and some decals on ..
  9. ahh... so that's what those extra pieces are for in my Hasegawa 1:48 F-15C kit are for. Thanks for the info. too bad they didn't include the CFT in each kit 😞
  10. I think I might have some, do you just need one?
  11. … interesting, now how to get a conformal fuel tank with proper stores pylons for a F-15C ? guess I would have to rob from an F-15E kit? 🙂
  12. came across this post on Twitter .. https://twitter.com/MbKS15/status/821202414195904512 The video implies this was Desert Storm time frame. At the beginning of the clip, you see a Saudi F-15C with conformal fuel tanks and 3 Mk84 bombs. Anyone have an insight on F-15C in the air-to-ground role?
  13. been a really long time since I did much work on DS builds. Too many Star Wars kits to do 🙂 Anyway, did a bit of painting on the F-5E. Almost ready for Future. Pardon the crappy cell phone pic. My camera died ... … still looking for any wartime pics of their load out. 😞
  14. I did my VF-32 plane with a combination of existing decals and stuff printed from LaserJet at home. 201 would be the easiest to do in low-vis, being it only had basic markings ..
  15. I approve of this project :) … mainly because I've been slowly working on Kennedy aircraft from Desert Storm. At the moment, I'm on a Star Wars kick though so Desert Storm is on pause. A good number of my builds and short write ups are included in Jakub's Desert Storm reference site. They're a little dated as there are better aftermarket sets out now and I'm sure I can do a better assembly / paint job now too. But they might be a little helpful as I spent a good amount of time researching. I'm building at least one plane from each squadron. I've done 3 A-7Es, 2 F-14s, E-2C, K
  16. The A-Wings are different, I believe Revell has a kit out for the Last Jedi version
  17. All I have to say is: I won't be building any models from The Last Jedi
  18. i have left overs of this sheet if you want it, I used some of the F-111 decals
  19. I'm one of those "good enough" modelers, and I'm fairly happy with how my Academy F-111F turned out. This was the Academy F-111C kit with modifications. There where things I didn't like that I would do different if I were to build this again; but good enough for now :) http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb32/toclafane/IMG_4918_zpse4tzovxp.jpg
  20. I have left overs of the 1:48 Model Alliance sheet. I didn't use the decals on that sheet for my own Granby build. Unless I am mistaken, it was only during the build up phase that planes had that emblem. You can tell the time period because of the smaller fuel tanks which weren't used during war time.
  21. Though, i'm not a big fan of the Millenium Falcon, this model has potential to look amazing. I built the 1:144 kit and it looked alright. However, there are still other craft that I would prefer over the Falcon. A 1:72 kit of the Imperial Shuttle, B-Wing, Tie Bomber ... and I'm all happy :)
  22. have you guys seen this? sweet .. http://www.taghobby.com/archives/196470
  23. Built this for someone else, so I did this one kinda quickly. I've decided 1:144 is too small of a scale for me. All the weathering was done with paint brush.
