nicely done! :) I'm awaiting my order to come in.. I made a purchase on Nov 25th but it never showed, trying to get a refund. :( Put in another order with another retailer a couple weeks ago.. maybe this time.

it was No. 3 in a group of 4 Intruders from the Saratoga, dropping cluster bombs I believe over an airfield. It was a low-level night attack, no.2 (with Lts. Zaun and Wetzel) was shot down. no 3 diverted to Saudi Arabia. After this mission, the Navy generally quit low-level attacks..

My condolences for the loss of your little girl; I hope you and your wife will be surrounded with the care and comfort of family and friends during this difficult time.

The Force is weak with Star Trek ;)

Academy 1:48 F-111F Aardvark Finemolds 1:72 TIE Figther Finemolds 1:72 TIE Advanced Finemolds 1:72 TIE Interceptor Finemolds 1:72 Y-Wing Bandai 1:72 Y-Wing Finemolds 1:72 X-Wing .. there's also a Bandai X-Wing but I don't have any pictures of it in my photobucket account. My usual build theme will be sidetracked by Star Wars for some time :)

Excellent work as usual, will Anton and Koen post pics of their finished builds too?
-
wow, great stuff, all awesome builds!
-
nice! keep up the nice Star Wars work :)
-
Personally, I am fine with these 1:72 kits; they look great and I like having all the other options in 1:72 (TIE interceptor, etc.). Also, they are more affordable to me. Given the retail price of the Revell Master Series 1:48 X-Wing, I'm definitely not buying one anytime soon. Budget modeling here I come! :)

hey, what did I say about not putting this one into the fail pail?
-
unfortunately, the availability of Star Wars kit options meant I had to go down to your scale ;)
-
Well, The Finemolds kit is larger than the Bandai kit, different sizes make taking pics of em together a little more tricky. Also, I don't have the Finemolds kit anymore in my possession.
-
Finemolds offering built as Gold 2 : and the Bandai 1:72 kit built as Gold 1 I'd say the Bandai kit is much sharper looking.
-
this one better not make it into the fail pail! ;)
-
cooll, looks like a nice sharp kit.

wow, didn't expect this thread to be dug up :) ... yeah, this build is on indefinite hold. I'm still doing some Star Wars stuff and also got a F-5E in the works. Probably to be followed by a F-4G. Once my display case is full, I'll work on the B-52 again. At my rate, probably a year.

Academy 1:48 F-111F Aardvark, 48th TFW(P), Desert Storm

the glass shelf is 18 inches wide, there is about 3 inches from the shelf to the glass doors. Just enough space to fit 7 models per shelf, except the Navy section where the wings are all folded and I can cram in more :) -

I airbrush with acrylics. With the standard FS numbers for an Aardvark, I used Gunze Sangyo Aqueous Hobby Colour for the two greens, and Model Master for the brown. The underside was Tamiya Black mixed with some grey. I doubt it, that's beyond my "good enough" look for me ;) ... unless "good enough" changes one day. Thanks for the compliments everyone :) -

Same with me, hence why I had been building DS birds for years. My display case for DS builds is nearly full so it will soon be time to move on to a different subject... My earlier builds aren't very good so I've decided to "redo" some of them. My goal to add a GR1 Tornado, F-4G, F-16C, and F-5E, into that display. Lately, I've been building 1:72 Star Wars. -
finally posted pics of this build ..

This one has been sitting around for a while, some little changes I want to do but that won't happen for a while so it's "done" for now. Time to post pictures ...

build them all!! -
Thanks Not much of a secret. Just take your sharp hobbyknife and gently press along the panel line you want to cut. With each pass, you cut a little deeper. When it's close to cutting through, cut from the other side of the plastic too.
