In that case, check these out. Some really nice Euro 1 paint schemes. https://www.reidairpublishing.com/decals/usaf-f-4e-gunfighter-phantoms
Will check. Thanks.

Check your sources on the plane you are wanting to do. The EJ kit comes with the hard wing and different wingtip antennas specific to the Kai. I believe that most USAF E's had the slatted wing by the time they went to the Euro 1 paint scheme.
Thanks, but I'm not that detailist. 👍👍👍👍

Hi PouK9,
I understand that the reason for the low-vis markings is to avoid contrast with the Euro1 color scheme.
So, the Sidewinders should be painted using the same scheme of the wraparoud. 😂😂😂😂😂
Just for laughs.

The Euro1 scheme was used on USAF Phantoms ie: C D E G and RF. The EJ was used by JASDF and never wore Euro1. The JASDF did have a two Green /Grey scheme of their own with Lt Grey undersides.
Hi scotthldr,
You are right.
My Hasegawa F-4 came with the JASDF markings.
I will favour the lizzard wraparound scheme instead, and will have to buy a set of low-vis decals.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Flores,
I think the intent of the dark underside of the wraparound camouflage scheme was to hide the plane during its new mission of low level bombing over Europe. The earlier Southeast Asia camouflage scheme, with the light grey underside, was better for the higher altitudes as used over Vietnam, making it harder for an observer looking up to see. With the low level mission, an enemy would most likely be looking down on the F-4. While he’s maneuvering, a steep bank might expose the underside of the jet, and you don’t want a flash of light grey against a dark green background to give away your position. Way back in the 1980s when I was a flight instructor, one of our practice areas was over a low level route used by 4th TFW F-4Es. There was a steep turn along the route in that area, where they’d make a large heading change, and even with their bellies exposed, the Europe 1 wraparound camouflage made them hard to see against the green vegetation below them.
Cheers,
Ben
Hi Ben,
Thanks for your crystal clear explanation.
Now the wraparound cammo scheme does make sense.
👍👍👍👍

Hello,
Undecided about the cammo scheme for my Hasegawa 1/48 F-4EJ.
I like the Euro1 (NATO?) scheme best, but don't know what color to use for the underbelly/belly(?).
I have one such scheme image that shows the belly using the same cammo of the top side, what doesn't make sense for me.
I appreciate your help.

You are welcome(back) Flores! and yes, we have very similar avatars ....welcome to the club! ... i've never seen you before!...that the soviet era subjects re-boxed by Eduard could have been of interest for you...the 1/48 MiG-21 ....you'll get the best you can get from Eduard!
Hi mingwin,
Funny the coincidence about our similar avatars.
Yes, I'm fond of the cold war soviet era planes and AFV's, but not much of the modern era Russian ones. They are big even in the 1/48 scale.
Both the Eduard's Su-7 and MiG-21PFM might end in my stash of kits to build, to the despair of my wife.
I am not much active on plane forums. I'm much more an observer than a participant.
Now that I am back to the club you might see me more often.
Thanks for your help.

...and Eduard 1/48 Su-7, Su-22M3, Su-22M4 and Su-25 are rebox of KP(KoPro) kits with Colored PE, paint masks and some resin bits. those are not 21st century engineering kit... still you can make great models from it.
Hello mingwin,
Thanks a lot for your comments.
We have very similar avatars :cheers:/>/>/>

Eduard's 1/48 F-16s are reboxed Kinetic kits.
Hi habu2,
Thanks for your advice.

...Their MiG-21 is a masterpiece - except for the bis version,....Other than that they're spectacular kits...Be aware that a lot of Eduard kits, are Academy ....Best to ask if you're not sure.....The Fw and MiG are 100% Eduard though.
Hi Jennings,
Thanks for your great help and comments.
I really appreciated.

Returning to the hobby after several years absence.
What a difference .... my God!
Are the Eduard's kits really good?
I am mostly interested in FW-190A and MiG-21 1/48 kits.
What are the main differences between their Profipack, Limited and Weekend Editions? Prices, details, number of parts, photo-etches?
Well folks, I will appreciate if you give me a hand.
Cheers,

If you put a dash ("-") It may have some meaning like not or something, but it definitely doesn't like the dash
Dave,
You are correct. I was not aware of this.
+apple -juice = Find posts with 'apple' but not 'juice'
So my searches for "Su-24" found a lot of "Su" (Suckois)
Anyway, the ARC search engine doesn't work well.

Try searching ARC through google.
Berkut,
Good Idea!

Here are my impressions of the kit:
And after seeing more pictures of the built model:
And one of the very best quotes I've ever heard, courtesy of Impatient Pete:
"It might be Totally wrong, but at least it's very expensive... "
Looking at the sprue shots it doesn't appear as though they fixed any of the problems.
Hi Zactoman,
Thanks for your help.
Definitely, either I don't know how to do a seach in these ARC forums, or it doesn't work.
Yesterday I tried several different searches on this subect, but could not get to any conclusive post, like yours.
I searched for:
su-24
su-24 +trumpeter
su-24 AND trumpeter
su-24 AND 1/48
su-24 +1/48
....
....
I will now read your remarks.

Flores, Look hear. You can also try Trumpeters web site.
Hello Brad,
Many thanks.
This is exactly the site where I first heard about the new kit.
Is it good, besides being expensive (Hannant's - 75 pounds)?
I was in fact looking for the first impressions, or reviews, of the new kit.

It's straight forward guys.
If you just want to post pics of your model and get some compliments.....use "The Display Case" as the name implies.
If you want to post pics and get some constructive feedback, then use "Critique Corner".
SBARC,
I fully agree with you.

Depending on the gap, I use PVA or slow setting ARALDITE.
Visit: http://www.huntsman.com/advanced_materials...cfm?pageID=5905
Araldite for wider gaps, and PVA for thinner ones.

.....They're the best belts I've ever seen and the buckle actually works! -
Hello,
Where can I get a good set (seatbelts) for my 1/32 Fw-190a?
Welcome any help.

Hello Andy,
It sure is! :(
Flores
......... probably a bit cheaper than buying a new hard drive ;) -
Charlie,
I started using damp cotton but don't recommend using it at all as some of its fibers get loose sticking to the wet paint.
Switching to damp toilette paper.
Regards,
Flores
But now, I am seeing the advantages of using toilet paper instead. :I suppose if were really careful with the amount of water used, it could work very well. -
Hello Andy,
I don't have any at the moment.
Next time, I will make a try.
Thanks,
Flores
I tend to use sponge, the type you get in the packing for hard drives.
