My two cents, and with respect to others here who may have different views: I would be much more likely to buy a decal sheet largely full of unique artwork that I can't source elsewhere or easily paint. I presumed you'd want to do decals for the 1/48 Lindberg/AMT Snark kit because at present it's available in large numbers. However, for me, it's not that big a deal to paint the model white, mask the white stripes (they're all just straight lines), and paint it with red. If a bunch of large, white shapes is going to eat up all the real estate on a decal sheet, I'd vote to omit them in favor of other artwork for a broader array of missile kits. There are plenty of sources for generic national insignia, US AIR FORCE, USAF, and stripe decals already. To be honest, for the operational Snark in the photograph above, I could easily source all markings with decals already in my drawer. (I would need to use my out-of-stock Caracal Basics 48008 SAC badges decal; maybe reprint that or just include the SAC badge artwork in a couple of sizes on a new cruise missile decal sheet.)

On the other hand, I can't easily paint or source the unique nose artwork (nor "NAVY" on the Regulus) on missiles like these:

I'd welcome a decal sheet with just selected artwork for many kits such as the Snark nose art examples above sized for both the Lindberg and Revell kit, maybe even Monogram. Regulus decals could be sized for Revell and maybe even also Aurora. Perhaps the decal instructions could include suggestions for painting or sourcing elsewhere (Caracal Basics?) the remaining markings. I'd rather see this than a whole sheet filled with (for example) complete decals for just one or two 1/48 Snark models.

I would welcome new decals for the Revell/Renwal 1/32 Mace kit (both transport vehicle & missile).

The site says the 1/72 sheet is sold out. He has the same markings in 1/144 that is "down to the last few sets"

Well, I just put that sheet in my cart and when I went to check out it did not say anything about being sold out.

They will be getting F-16AM/BM's from The Netherlands, Norway and possibly some other users who has transitioned to the F-35. Color scheme is unknown, but there are rumours that the first ex-Dutch jets may be transferred within a couple of weeks. To be confirmed, hence too early to make decals for somehting you have no references on. But this will come in due course I assume (y)

    Thanks @Dutch - but not building 1/72, only 1/48.

I was only suggesting that when there were references available that decals of these aircraft round be nice to have.  Thank you for the info on the variant of F-16 that maybe offered as we haven’t seen them yet we can’t be certain of what the Ukraine’s  will receive.  I was only asking if it was document as to the exact variant they would be flying.

  7. How about decals for Ukrainian AF F-16s when we know what they will look like.  Pilot training looks like it will be completed for the initial group pretty soon.  I would think that they would use the current Camo scheme but they may show up with a digital scheme.  Anybody know what Block F-16s they are getting?

  8. Has anybody built this kit? I have one but I am a little intimidated by all the 3D printed gates on the model that have to be removed. Then the color call outs for painting the model make no reference to any brand of paint. Having never assembled a 3D printed model that requires  the modeler to cut the printed gates, I would like to read an article about the assembly of this kit ( or a different 3D printed model) before I go cutting away on this kit.  Anybody working on one that would like  to share how you built this kit.

    Thanks in advance,

The main issue that is relevant as far as kit parts are concerned is the canopy. MS often had one with a central frame as included in the Trumpeter MF but not afaik the M kit. So the MF is recommended for conversion to MS. You’ll also need to change some panel lines and antennae on the nose as well as the hinge on the rudder. MS has only one piston. No kit includes this currently.

btw, forget about the Esci kit, it’s basically a toy compared to trumpeter. Jon Bryon did a great M build where he points out the issues found in the trumpeter kit still.

If you already have the Trumpeter M, Ciro Models of Czechia makes a MF/S vacu canopy, also correcting the „bubble-shape“ that trumpeter put in their canopy.

Also, for the BN, I strongly recommend the Cold War Studio nose correction. The Trumpeter kit got the shape completely wrong.

Thanks for the info, it will be handy when I build.

    Thanks Guys!

  10. Yes Sir, both of those books are excellent and I have both.
On a side note, I was assigned to the 1st AH-64A Apache unit in the US Army back in

1986. One of the cool things we got to do was go TDY to Nellis AFB for 2 weeks to work with the USAF Fighter Weapons School to develop Joint Air Attack Tactics incorporating the new technology of the Apache with the ground attack assets of the Air Force (A-10, F-16, F-111, etc.). My Cav Troop worked with the A-10 community.  We could only fly during daylight hours (the Air Force was secretly testing & training aircrews in the F-117 at night back then). Our training area was about 120 miles northwest of Nellis and south of Tonopah, NV.  One day when we were flying our JAAT mission with the

A-10s, one of the Apache crews captured on video tape (aircraft gun camera) a silver aircraft glint. The Apache pilot zoomed in on it and recorded it.  During our mission debrief back at Nellis, we all saw the aircraft., which to us looked like a MiG 17. The Air Force Intelligence officer assigned to our training told us it was an F-86 used for threat tactics and took the tape.  Some years later after I was out of the Army and the books about the Red Eagles were published,  I found out it was actually a

Mig 17 from an old army buddy.  Those were the fun days of my army days.

     Thanks for the info.
