  6. Hi Trevor: It will be about 16" wingspan, and the color in the drawing is correct, so I also think it will be nice. This is a scratchbuild from Russian plans....Will be a slow build but I will put photos up as the project develops.

  9. I told this in the WWI list but no one seems to pay attention......just talk and talk.... Since this is a 1:48 scale job you must work to scale: Make your propeller using Cigar Wood Wrappers......sand them very thinly (they are thin already), get different shades of wood, different cigars have different wood wrappers..... Now cut the different shade wood wrappers to a larger size than the prop. Glue them at a stagger, you want the different wood to show as the rel ones, glue as much slivers as you will need for thikness ( Use the palstic prop for reference then throw it away).   10. Hi Guys: Started this Tupolev R6 "Air Cruiser"...in 1:48 scale, wood and card. Should have it ready in about 3 or 4 months..... First model built in 1929, as a Coastal Patrol for the North Sea area. It evolved up to 1940 when the squadrons using it changed to Be-4's. Pilots liked it for its powerful engines but hated it for they almost froze on their patrols. Carried 6 bombs under its belly and observers had double machine guns for straffing and protection....a very powerful aircraft....
  11. a lot of patience and...................take a small flat brush, cut bristels to scale stroke..and start with a dry stroke build up until you get the right color.....in a few months and a strained neck will do it......un Bellisimo velivolo!!!!!
