  1. Great work Devo, that prop looks awesome
  2. Another one for my cold war RAF/RN Collection. I remember the Falklands war as a kid in school, and was always fascinated by the "Jump Jets" on the TV. So I was pretty happy when Kinetic released a Sea Harrier, noting that the only other options in 48 were the horrible Airfix and Tamiya kits. I'm also looking forward to Kinetics Harrier Gr.3. I've chosen to do XZ457 - "14" of No 800 Naval Air Squadron onboard HMS Hermes in the South Atlantic in 1982. XZ457 was the highest scoring Sea Harrier with 2 IAI Daggers and 1 A-4Q Skyhawk. accredited to her. As I've
  3. I could scratch a ladder but to be honest I've had enough of this one and just want to move onto the next build. I'm struggling to find enough enthusiasm to paint the pilot
  4. Nearly done. Just have to paint the pilot and find and re-attach the air vane on the nose. I did intend to fit a ladder but forget to procure one, and am not going to pay $20 for one :D I'm also considering flat coating the base, it's quite shiny. I'd be interested in opinions on whether this would improve the looks.

  6. To me it seams pointless wasting time on a set that may may be a exact scale down of the real thing, if it's not going to fit the kit (or any kit). As a consumer it pisses me off buying a nice aftermarket seat and finding out it doesn't fit the kit , For example, the Quickboost 1/48 Lightning seat is lovely but it's far to large to fit the Airfix kit. I'm now pretty wary on buying seats these days because the last few I've bought, (Neomega for the Kittyhawk Jag and Pavla for the Kinetic Sea Harrier) just didn't fit in the kits. That said, I do understand that for thin
  7. Not that easy down here. I can get it from Hannants, that's the only online place I've found it so far, but It'll be close to $20 AUD when delivered to me.
  8. Nice work there. I do like the Monogram wheels, the kinetic ones are't that flash. I was wondering about a ladder as I'm doing the same. I've lost interest though so no ladder for me.
  9. Nice work there. I agree about that nose seam, I hate it. I just ultracast or barrcuda cowl covers now . Well worht the $$$
  10. Lovely work. Underside weathering looks great
  11. The leading edge wing wing light lens lost it's clarity from erosion. so you could rough it up with a sanding stick. I believe it was only ever used on carrier based aircraft. Ours (RNZAF) were often painted over, especially in post Kahu aircraft. I never changed a light in that position so our aircraft they may not have even been fitted. The red and green lens were actually red and green plastic. IIRC the light inside was a clear fluro like tube that lit the whole assembly. There were actually 2 lights , one for the forward clear light and another for the rear red (or green) posi
  12. Flat coat on. I love this part of build as you can see if the work has paid off. I used Testors Dullcoate.
  13. Finally got some work done on the smaller bits. Everything is from the kit. I did add some detail to the nose wheel as it's quite prominent. Sidewinders are from the kit. They are really nice after the seam lines are cleaned up. The Covers are from Dr Pepper. I did alter the upper part of the sidewinder rails to make them look more like what I remember them looking like.
  14. Been a while since I updated this but I have been plodding along slowly. I have lost a bit of interest in this build however. Gloss coat was firstly Testors Gloss Lacquer... As usual it didn't seem to dry properly taking a day or so to really go off. And it still wasn't that glossy. So I went to the good stuff - GaiaNotes Lacquer... And then it was shiny. And 10 mins later I could handle it...... Now to buy some more Decals are from the kit. They were the best kit decals I've ever used... bar none. The big decals settled into the fine detail without the use of any se
  15. Tamiya http://hamfisted-modeller.blogspot.com.au/2016/04/148-mitsubishi-a6m3-zero-251st-naval.html
  16. I really like the weathering you've pulled off here. I'd love to do something similar My only critique, which isn't related to workmanship but more on a realism angle is, would such a decrepit looking aircraft still be in service, and be armed up?
  17. Lovely work. I really like the presentation and I reckon you've nailed the colours
  18. I bought replacement CMK blades for my UMM Handle
