Follow a good guide of the Revell kit and you'll dodge the issues with the kit.

Some links to good guides would be great.
All Iv';e seen are ones where people have struggled with the kit. It looks like typical Revell. OK but not great, and built to a price point. -

I often mask Mr Color within minutes of finishing painting . Especially in Summer where is seems to dry within seconds. The only time I've ever had Mr Color be puled up by tape is where I've used hairspray underneath it to do some chipping .

great idea, well executed. You should take some photos against the sky.

For those asking about the probe covers, these are the ones I used.

Forgive the crappy pic, but you get the idea. They work great.
And sir, fantastic job with yours! Looks great! And what makes you unhappy with your work on the exhausts?
Just the overall finish, It didn't help I broke them installing them so had to do some repairs.

You did it the right way. I'm actually not that far off. We're selling our house and downsizing, which will take care of everything, including college for my daughters, although I'm still going to make them pay for chunks of it. I've found if you don't have skin in the game, you don't always care as much as you should.

Beautiful Mud Hen! Can you tell us about the base you used? That looks really nice too.
The base is a exterior floor tile painted grey with a hardstanding pattern drawn on it

Nice build! Only question I have is where did you find the covers for the air sensors on the fuselage and the burner cans?
Never seen the red covers for the fuselage sensors before.
Thanks!
They were a set from Two Mikes Resin. I think they aren't available any more

Very nice Calum
Did you scratch build the AOA sensor cover or does it come as part of some sort of set?
It's part of a old Two Mikes set Ray

I finished this quite a few months ago. But I was faffing around with backgrounds trying to get some decent photos. Finally got something I liked.
All the details of the build and my thoughts on the kit are at my blog
But in summary. Good kit but showing it's age. I'm happy with most of it bar the exhausts (For such a prominent feature I didn't do a good job on them) and the canopy (crap design).
Lots of photos at the blog but here's a couple of photos

IMHO you can't beat Tamiya AS-12 Bare-metal silver decanted and sprayed through the airbrush. I use it as the base coat for all silver or Bare metal finishes.
