That's a pretty good start. The sheen on the tank looks fine, but I would add a dead-flat finish to the undercarriage and wheels. The contrast between a touch of sheen up high, and dead flat down low really goes a long way. Also certainly add flat to the commander's uniform. He looks like a BDSM leather-daddy right now. :)

I think there is more nuance than that. The clean track may have a semi-dulled black metallic look, but contact surfaces would quickly be worn down to a brighter sheen. Add dust, grime etc, and you have a palimpsest of black metallic , with various earth tones in recesses and bright metallic highlights. I like to paint them black then.gice them a very heavy dark brown wash, then drybrush with Humbroll oily steel.

Like Alvis and others said, the drop-off in traffic* is not due to any bannings. It's the ease of posting on FB. I can upload pics directly from my phone. No third party photoboucket style BS. With phone cameras becoming so good now, I can take a better pic with my phone than with my real camera (I know you DSLR types will not think the same way. Just settle down, I'm talking about myself, only), and with one click its online. There were a lot of great and not so great people who passed through this forum. I like the Facebook groups, but I kind of wish we could go back to the hey day of this forum, 10-15 years ago. This place is only as good as its memberahip. I do wonder what it would take?

Excluding the ZM kit, the most detail per dollar spent, will probably be the Academy kit. It is also pretty easy to build. Just take care with the ventral plate below the intakes. The Monogram kit is pretty detailed and cheap. Engineering isn't the best, and some parts fit poorly. I like the Hasegawa phantoms. They fit MUCH better than their 72nd scale phantoms, and have the most subtypes available. The kits are about 30 years old now, and some of the details are not at the level expected of similarly priced kits. Testors and Italeri's phantoms (same plas

Sorry, I hope my message didn't sound like an attack. Didn't mean for it to. I was commenting on the volume of armor you must have, and curious what portion of it is built. Because damn, that's a lot of kits!!!!

Hello, I'm building an Ukrainian Air Force Su-24M. I've been looking around for photos of these aircraft armed, but most show up without any weapons. I have seen one with a bunch of small FAB bombs on MERs, but I'm hoping to see something with unguided rockets or AG missiles.

This is making my head spin. I was searching for 1/72 build threads to inspire me to return to the scale I used to love most. This thread is inspiring, but also overwhelming. I don't think I can do this level of work, but this is the level I want.

I like the simple but very effective approach you took to the cockpit. I was getting all bent out of shape trying to figure out how to replace the lack-luster seat, but putting the pilot in it, and painting him as sharply as you did, is probably the best solution. Thanks for the inspiration.
