  1. Now that things are opening up again, I'm curious what your go-to hobby shop was when everything was closed down and you were stuck at home?
  2. Ha! That's nothing! My Pong skills are through the roof because of Covid-19. 😂
  3. Could it be just the EA-3B that had those on the left side? I'd like to see pictures of the RA- and ERA-3B's to see if they had them.
  4. CV-19? What about the USS Hancock? Just kidding! I'll be there working at the Sprue Bros. table. Come by and say "hey".
  5. Do you really? Holy cow! You can have whatever sets you want!
  6. I thought the same thing! I was trying to figure out if it was actually a shape of something.
  7. Bubble wrap and Fiberfill. They are the best things to ship a model. You wrap the model loosely in several layers of bubble wrap then surround it with a bed of Fiberfill.
  8. But...but...but... that doesn't fit the narrative!
  9. I just looked at some high res pics. The edges are red on images I looked at, but the red area is very small. If you go to the Navy Hornet weathering thread and start at the beginning, there are some good shots of Prowlers on the first page.
  10. I recentlly completed a 1/48 CA Savage for a client and sent it off. He was pleased but wanted to know if I could change the white canopy framing to blue. No problem. He sent it back, I fixed it, and then sent it on its way via USPS Priority Mail. All is well until it doesn't show up. Then the comedy of errors begins. I put all of the receipts with tracking numbers of packages I send in one place. I pull out the stack only to find it's not there. I have no idea where it is. So, no tracking number. No problem. I'll use the spare canopy that came with the kit. Unfortunately, we were cleaning up
  11. I'm with you. I rarely prime.
  12. Alclad White Primer with Microfiller. I use it as my white as well. Great stuff!
  13. I just learned that we observe a moment (one minute) of silence at 3:00 local time. I had never heard of that. I feel bad for not knowing that sooner. I'll be observing that today, though.
  14. I have just one thing to say about that cover....................NOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. That covers everything nicely. Good idea hitting them all.
  16. There's a trick to getting around the gloss coat. Sand your final paint lightly with a sanding cloth. Then simply put a puddle of Future where the decal goes. Put on the decal, dab off the excess Future with a wet paper towel, and you're done. Then you flat coat and everything becomes uniform.
  17. Doesn't Caracal have an early Eagle sheet with this on it?
  18. To quote the movie "Amadeus": Well, there it is! I'd forgotten about the TCS pod. That's actually the thing that proved the Libyans were lying when they said their aircraft were unarmed recon.
  19. It was the standard beaver tail. With what you've listed, you've got what you need to do Gypsy 207. I can't recall if Gypsy 202 had the early gun vent or the standard gun vent.
  20. I think what makes Star Wars so impactful for most of us is two-fold. One, nothing like that had ever been seen on the film before. Second, most of us were young at the time of the release. It helped form our childhood. The innocence we had played a part in how important it became to us. As adults, it's hard to recapture that because of the cynicism that has crept into our lives and built up over the years. If you ask kids today what they thought of the new Star Wars trilogy, you will get many of the same reactions we had. If you really, really take an honest look at the original films, the st
  21. It does. At one time I had a picture saved of it on the ramp, and you can clearly see the two flags under the canopy rail.
  22. I would imagine there was a donor with deep pockets that flew in that squadron. With most museums on a shoestring budgets, it doesn't take much to end up with a paint scheme like that. Historical accuracy? That went out the door. There's a Navy park at the airport by me that has three aircraft, all in fictional markings. It kills me to see them, but the county is too cheap for repaints.
