  1. Ooooh...I missed this totally. Perhaps I need to get out more. My P-6E Hawk. Cost me £2. This was a beaut of a little kit, with the cabane struts and undercarriage legs already moulded as part of each fuselage half. Plus, the snazzy 'talons' on the spats were outlined by a very fine, raised line, which made painting the design so much easier. All oob, apart from some Aeroclub rigging thread. Full build details here; Unofficial Airfix Modellers Forum Regards, Bruce
  2. I wasn't going to post...then I was...then I wasn't...then I was...then I wasn't...then I read this Thread. There's no doubt that the model is very nicely done and this is the reason Snr.Calcaterra was able to post his Argentinian perspective. After all, this is a modelling forum. That said, I think it's a slippery slope when such politics enter the ARC Gallery and should be avoided there and placed in here, where appropriate Moderation takes place. By the time I'd read the article, I'd forgotten about the SHAR kit, even though it had been chosen out of respect for those who flew it. I was
  3. Not so... A SIG will have to have at least 5 fully paid-up IPMS Members in order to become an Official SIG. After that, anyone can join the SIG and not be an IPMS member. However, being a member of a SIG will still not grant you free entry to SMW...you have to be an IPMS member for that. That said, having a SIG gives you the opportunity to join in at SMW in a way that is really special and other benefits of IPMS(UK) membership include access to a decal bank and a host of more specialist expertise. I joined up earlier in the year and, to date, have been quietly impressed with what I've rec
  4. I'll be with Mikeew, on the all-new Classic British Kits SIG stand. Considering the IPMS(UK) is allegedly struggling, it's good to see that new SIG's are happening! Looking forward to the two days...can my wallet stand it? Looking forward to meeting some of you lot as well! :P Regards, Bruce
  5. Lightning Trainer arrived yesterday! ;) Having played with a nmf on my Mirage IIIc for the Group Build, I'll do a better one for this baby! I've said it before and I'll say it again...the Raffle aspect of the build was a pleasant surprise and a great idea. Roll on the Airfix Group Build, when I can off-load some unlikely-to-be-built-by-me-in-this-cottage larger Airfix kits.
  6. Well I'm chuffed to bits! I must've missed the bit about Raffles early on, so winning is a bonus. If this is standard practice over here, I'd like to know next time how I can donate, as well as receive, so how do we exchange postal addresses? Best Regards, Bruce
  7. Yea! My first Group Build in here and 'twas a great excuse to build some great kits...an excellent example of just how much fun can be had, without the JMN's spoiling it all. I've got a couple more started and will finish them, having had as much fun as I've had during my Group Build experience. Thanks guys.
  8. 1/72 Mirage IIIc 100% 1/72 P-47D Thunderbolt 100% 1/72 Boeing P-12E 100% 1/72 AW Siskin 10% ...got half of January to get it done.
  9. And here's the Boeing P-12E. Again, there's something up with the camera. Still, it's my little plane and I will hug it and love it and call it George!
  10. Here's the second P-47D of the Group Build...
