  1. I had some good traveling opportunities this year around the US and saw some interesting looking aircraft.  Whenever I see schemes/liveries like these, I always think how that would be a cool decal sheet, or what a pain that might be to paint!  Happy New Year!

This is getting more interesting every week - I really like the synergy between new decal subjects and quality 3D-printed aftermarket parts designers/manufacturers like Arno, Dave (Roof) and others. I will do my part - I think we can look forward to seeing many more unique subjects that could now be modeled thanks to this level of collaboration.

This is what makes this hobby so great!

I have the same outfit. Which 100-400 do you have the v1 push/pull or the v2 twist zoom?

I tend to shoot aperture priority to stay in the “sweet spot” of the lens.

I had the v1 push/pull at one time, but last year I bought a new one, which is the v2.  Took a while to get used to for sure after having the other one for 10 years.

  4. Thanks for the compliments guys!  I'm definitely no pro, but it is very enjoyable to do.  My camera is a Canon 7D Mark ii with a Canon 100mm-400mm lens.  The settings very tremendously depending on the light conditions, and the subject (fast movers vs props).  A lot of my camera settings are listed on the Flickr page for each individual photo. I attended Oshkosh for the first time last weekend...insane how big the show was!  Lots of photos form that to add as well, just haven't felt like editing any of them and uploading them.  Soon enough I will.

  5. I'm thinking of making my first ever trip to Oshkosh (no idea how I have never been), but that AFSOC stuff along with everything else looks amazing.  Probably a Saturday/Sunday trip for me too!  Maybe I'll sleep in my truck?  Anyhow, looks amazing! (BTW, at the Topeka airshow this past weekend, at one time they had a Gunship Heritage flight listed, then taken down.  On Friday they had an AC-130J & AC-47 do their formation flyover, then the AC-130J left and never returned...practice for the future, maybe?  They also had a AC-130W on static, but that was not the Gunship that took part of the formation flyover.)
