  1. Thanks Scotsman! :) - I think until I manage to sort the hornet can issue (ideas anyone?!) I'll bump up the Phantom on the production line! Cheers R.
  2. Awesome job - saw your ordnance taking shape on the other thread and was mightily impressed. The final package is stunning - very convincing. Congratulations on a fantastic build. Regards, R.
  3. Thanks Dave, relieved to know that they are usable atleast! Regards, Richard.
  4. Hi guys, Are Aires 1/32 phantom exhausts any better sized than their Hornet offering? I have just discovered that the closed Aires Hornet set I have are essentially useless as they are too small . I have a set of Phantom exhausts on order and am wondering if I should cancel (if I can), if they're no better? Cheers Rich.
  5. Fantastic work. Very inspirational. So inspirational Hasegawa and Eduard just felt the benefit to the detriment of my mastercard. :D (Don't tell the missus!) Seriously though, that is excellent work - looking forward to seeing them all completed (group photo? ^_^ ) Richard
  6. Thanks guys, All is much, much clearer now. Richard.
  7. Hi guys, having read the phantom guide for the masses as well as several other posts (and getting myself in bit of a confusion) I'm seeking an idiots guide (that'd be me!) to the term slatted wing. Specifically does this refer simply the inner part of the wing (in which case am I right in thinking Paragon designs set #32009 would suffice for a 1/32 update) or does it refer to both the inner and outer leading edges? In which case am I right in thinking the C.E. set is the only option? Also is C.E. the only option (other than scratch) for a 1/32 TIESO? Any pointers much appreciated. Richar
  8. Evening all, thought i'd post a couple of pictures now that I've started my Spitfire that my lovely Girlfriend bought for me for Christmas.... Why is it that even though the engine build starts at stage 43 we all seem compelled to begin there...? :-) The engine isn't all glued together yet (hence the slight gap down the supercharger end). A quick word of warning about this - if you slide the supercharger onto the spindle that protrudes from the crankcase for a "test fit" (stage 47) be careful! - the fit of the sleeve over the spindle is so good it's one heck of a job to get it back of
  9. Thanks guys, I think even without the seats the Aires offering may be the way to go. Regards, Richard.
  10. Hi all, A quick question for all the hornet buffs - for a Block 35 (Lot 14) Hornet - whose cockpit to go for? BB/Avionix list a "late" - lot 13+ set, where as the Aires set doesn't state (and I can't find it!) which block it's accurate for. Any recommendations? And another one while I'm here.... other than the old BB set (which I can't find)does anybody make a set of AN/ALE-47 chaff / flare dispensers? Many thanks guys! : ) Cheers. Richard.
  11. Isaac, Thanks for the walk around shots, really helpful. As per the above I've dropped Sky Models a line, although the website has the sheet as out of stock... :( fingers crossed! Think I might buy a trumpy SLUF for the M-117's as it's only £35 more than the bomb set on its own. There's a good shot of Kurnass 617 in the Isradecal publication loaded up with what appears to be 5x M-117's, 3 x Mk 83's and two winders which I might go for as a loadout - it looks bad*** and I'd be able to get enough M-117's from one SLUF... (which I'd stack with Mk 82 snakeyes from the F4!) Once again than
  12. Hi guys, further to... http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....&hl=israeli (thanks for all the replies and info), I've bought the Osprey aces (very nice) and the Isradecal title (which to be honest, is shocking in its awesomeness! ) and have a couple of additional q's... 1) Munitions: 1/32nd M-117's and CBU 52/58's. I know trumpy have the M-117's as part of their modern armament set, and CAM also make 'em (can't track them down in stock anyplace tho) but are there any other options out there? Also anyone make the CBU's? Depending on the availability of CBU's (i.e. if no on
  13. Hi Guys, I know you've passed the half way mark - but is it to late to pitch in? I've plastic on order for a WWII Whiffy (which I'll build anyways) and wondered if I might gatecrash? :-) Kind regards, Richard.
  14. Hi guys, Very long time since I've posted and back with a pretty dumb series of questions.... 1) Other than decals and intake issues, can Tamiyas F4E be built OOTB as a '73 IAF Phantom? My understanding is that it represents the hard edge earlier version and that the phantoms flown by the IAF of the time were of this type? 2) If I was to swap the 'pit out for a BB item or pretty it up with an Eduard set would this still be accurate? 3) With regards to markings, Isra Decal make a set of stencils that I believe are correct but does anyone do unit markings etc? 4) Anything else I should wa
  15. Thanks for that. Found a good plan from the link above. Now all I have to do is mark them out and punch them. I didn't realise there where quite so many :) Rich
