  1. Sorry for tne triple post my pc is not working good, please Mr. Administrator, erase two of them. Best, Juan
  2. Argentina used 3 models of A-4 during the Malvinas War, A-4P (they were A-4B renamed P becuase of the improvements they received prior to coming here, althoughb the FAA never called them P but B), A-4C (they were adquired as their were at the moment of purchase, no improvements were made to them), and the COAN (Comando de Aviación Naval) used A-4Q basicaly B refurbished and with the naval equipement as they operated from the aircraft carrier (ex Colossus class) 25 de Mayo. The A-4C wore 2 kinds of camo, at first they wore a desertic camo (2 tones of brown plus light grey undersides), la

  5. Edited -- Juan, do you know if the Argentinians attempted any skip-bombing? Don't even know if that would be possible from a jet or in the water conditions around the Falklands/Malvinas. It was done by B-25 pilots against Japanese shipping during WW II, releasing the bombs very low to the ocean surface, and it skips off the waves into the hull. Hi Horrido: Well no, that wasn´t attempted, what was studied and even some launches were done, was to put an MK-44 torpedo under the belly of our FMA IA-58a Pucará COIN and light attack aircraft, but the war ended soon after that trials. Also
  6. Well, actually it wasn´t a problem with the fuses itselves, the problem was to find the exact point for the calibration of the fuses, taking in consideration the variable heights of tha attacking flights, the A-4´s and Daggers flew really scratching the waves at ULL (Ultra low level), so when a pilot released his boms, a lot of times the fuse didn´t turn all the needed times to arm the bomb. That situation changed when the Daggers begun to use the SSQ electronic fuses, all the bombs baegun to explode. Among other types the primary weapon carried in the A-4 were the old british 1.000
  7. Hi to all: Just saw this topic and some mistaken facts in it. The Argentine Air Force didn´t have Mirage III-CJ during the Malvinas/Falkland War, they were bought after the war and were surplus M-IIICJ from Israel. Second point, the MirageIII-EA, our main interceptor and air combat fighter, was armed with two kind of missiles, that were the Matra R-530EM (radar guided and useless missile, the israelis only fired a couple and retired them from service), and the IR one Matra R-550 Magic I, those last ones arrive here just weeks before the war, and the pilots didn´t know all the parameters

  11. At least for me, excellent news, a brand new Alpha Jet, that plane wear some very nice schemes, and it did realy make a contribution to Aviation History, it trained a lot of pilots, it is not neccesary t make history to have a combat tally, at least IMHO, it is a nice and good looking jet, and there are some armed variants as well. F/A-18 CF_188A...great news too!!!!! always is a plus to have more companies to choose from, and although nobody has released yet a brand new MiG-23 or 25,I´m retty sure we´ll have ne soon....finallly if a CEO, owner or what else you want to call him
  12. I had 3 Hasegawa´s and sold them...too much pieces for my taste, I have and old boxing A, had 2 RoG Black Tomcats and bought one new F-14D (with weapons), and an F-14B both from Revell-Monogram...why?, because they are simpler to build , faster to build, very and reasonable accurate (at least for me), and cost less than the Hasegawa´s and Hobby Boss ´ones...I´m considering buying an Academy too...you see, I like to change the angle of that bird wings, and Revell Monogram and Academy, let you do that, while with the Hasegawa and Hobby Boss you have to chose before finishing the mo
  13. I´m pretty sure it will be the old ESCI kit, maybe with some little improvements (weapons and so on...perhaps..).

  16. Hello, I have a Monogram F-14A and I had the Revell-Germany F-14A Black Bunny, the main difference it that I have the early louvered gun covers in the mono A and you have the later NACA style gun vent in the blackie, also you have the newer exhaust petals (A+, B and D), plus the dual chin pod and the irst pod. The rest remeains the same, I seem to recall that the nose in the blakie is better than that on the early Monogram´s A. Itá a very good kit indeed, my favourite F-14 in any scale. Best wishes. Juan
  17. Taking in consideration that Hobby Boss often releases the "family" or at least, most of an airplane model I´m pretty sure they will release all the other P-40, P-51 and the Corsair family, and I´m pretty sure they will consider seriously the P-51H and a new P-40B/C, plus all the Corsairs. I don´t see any inconvenience in those releases, even when we can get the superb Hasegawa P-51´s, Corsairs and P-40 and the Academy P-40 plus the excellent Tamiya´s P-51, it all depends on what a modeler is looking for, if the budget (considering the economics crisis the word is suffering it wouldn´t s

  19. Hi, I agree with Cobrahistorian, first try to contact Revell, I´m pretty sure they can help you, otherwise, try here back again.

    Irish Air Corps

Hi to all: I was wondering if all the Hurricanes Mk-I flown in the Irish Air Corps were fitted with the De Havilland or the Rotol spinner, in particular the number "105", did that particular airframe carry a De Havilland spinner?. Thank you very much for your help... Best, Juan
  24. DEar Uncle, first of all, I´m not Juan Hatlewsky, and if I were surely I would tell you second, I bought this product from internet, that is from Mercado Libre.com.ar, if you have any legal trouble with this guy,or with Mercado Libre go to the Court of Law,instead of declaiming and accusing him in a modelling forum, besides, did some of those guys copyrighted their work on the proper Register?, I bet they didn´t. Also, we all know that here (Argentina)all the resin stuff is copied from one to another, and sometimes, the "originals" made in here are mere copies of foreign works, and as an exampl
