If you still need a subject for the early F-100 sheet might I suggest one of the aircraft of the 4520th Combat Crew Training Wing (aka Fighter Weapons School)? Specifically, 56-2931 may be somewhat significant as it was the air frame that 40-Second Boyd had to eject from.

What other hobbies do you guys and gals have?

Archival research. I sit and look at photos of old airplanes, ships, and vehicles -
I talked to Jon the owner in April and he was working towards having the new paints ready in time for the IPMS USA Nationals. I suspect he's having to focus on that and the regular catalog and web site may be back burnered, is all.

I think it's kind of like how people like capital improvements over maintenance. "Look what I ADDED!" "Neat!" "Look what I fixed." "Boooorinngggsss!" -
I had the joy of it over the holidays - now it sounds like in the Seattle area all of the school kids who were out for Holiday break are starting to drop like flies, so I anticipate another round in the workplace as it spreads again.

SteelNavy is the first that comes to mind, but on the other hand, the site still looks like it's from the mid 1990s. There are a lot of older builders that post there that want nothing to do with social media and face book, but their numbers are dwindling and the majority of the newer builders that come along are social media friendly. My issue with Facebook is not social media in general, but their privacy and political practices. I refuse to sell my online soul to a company like that. I don't blame people for wanting an easy platform for sharing and connecting, but it does bother

In my experience it works the other way. People join the Facebook group, and then why would they want to join the web forum and have to create that second login, etc. Over time the owner enjoys not having to work the infrastructure as much, and then something happens to the forum and they realize that 90% of their people are on Facebook and it's easier to let the old forum go. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a criticism, just a lament.

For what it's worth, Dana's a good guy and is worth supporting with a book buy. I've got both volumes and found them very useful. Full disclosure, I may have eaten lunch with him once or twice at NARA.

And thus began the decline of another web forum.

Little bit of a bump here, missed this thread originally. An American folk music artist named Oscar Brand recorded a couple of albums of Army Air Corps / Air Force songs that he had collected from service members. Albums were titled The Wild Blue Yonder and Out of the Blue. A couple of examples are and . Fun modeling music in my opinion.

There's been a lot of "the difference between Cam and Russ" in Seattle and I think this is one of my favorites.

Thank you for some great times Marshawn.

I didn't have a dog in the fight, but I'm happy Manning went out on top.

Sure, I do. A couple of years ago everyone but "a few fans" knew that Denver was going to stomp the opposing team. After what Denver did to the Patriots, I'd love it if they won, but on the same hand, if Carolina stomps Denver maybe our own loss won't sting as much? I dunno, that's what some of the other Seahawks fans are thinking. I'm happy either way, to be honest.

Well, I guess you could say that Brady has more class in defeat than Cam did in victory - he didn't rip down and wad up any fan flags:

Ahh yes, "they hate us 'cause they anus."

"Can you win a game in the first quarter?"

The league's MO is to ignore an issue as long as possible and hope it blows over (See: Ray Rice).

Who else is the NFL going to pretend they're trying to cohesively police? I checked and it was the Patriots/Titans game I had heard about, but I bet it's not as random as they want the public to think.

I'd like to thank the Arizona Cardinals for helping the Seahawks set the records they did with the end of the season!

"Hell just got louder."

Nice Bronco in the background!

I remember a news blurb in the last 2-3 weeks that said their balls had been checked after that game. Wasn't this week's game, but it wasn't that far back. Not really anything I care about so I didn't make any detailed notes in my head about it.

Because this thread has been too quiet... Seahawks versus Monsters.

Blue Angels gearing up to switch to Super Hornets?

Just wait until they transition to UCAVs.
