"Crazy Good" job on a "bear" of a kit! Congrats. Alvin5182
  2. What qualifies as a "Curmudgeon"? I could be there already! Alvin5182 Does this entitle us to "Seniors discounts"?
  3. the last thing you want to hear.......................Look!...................no hands! Alvin5182
  4. Shane: I'm off to Jamaica for a week! Let this ride and see how you make out and we'll talk when I come back...........if need be! Al Davis I REALLY need a TBM-3E!
  5. Shane: If you can get me a line on a Hasegawa 1/72 Grumman Avenger TBM-3E.................I have a set you can have. (CL-215) Al Davis
  6. Gents: Don't know how I feel about this "Prize"! Alvin5182
  7. Sean: For a lack of technical knowledge, I guess it could be possible. I've only found one photo where the inner flaps are "very slightly" delpoyed. It's a shot in the Pettipas' Sea Fury book showing an ex-VF-870 machine that was handed over to the School of Naval Aircraft Maintenance at Shearwater. Might be down 10 deg at most. Even after retirement, the aircraft stored outside with the wings folded show no sign of dropped inner flaps despite the fact they haven't been used for some time! Al Davis
  8. Moe: Found 'em! Message sent! Alvin5182
  9. Moe: I have it here somewhere on my hard drive. I'll forward it via e-mail once I find it! Alvin5182 .
  10. Gents: Watched it last nite as opposed the "glitterati" of the Oscars! Not a bad movie! I enjoyed it! The story was not nearly as good as a book I read last year by an EOD guy from the UK who worked in Mosul. I can't remember the title..............cause I lent the book to someone and never got it back. It explored the "relationship" between the individual EOD personnell and individual "bombers" who showed up at the scene of a "diffusing" to watch their "handiwork" and record same. The book was excellent! The EOD guy was an admitted adrenalin junkie and came close to, or did lose his family b

    Spitfire

Check out some of the Belgian Spits. Lots of variations on MK XIVs. Not sure about the mix of C and E's but all metal finish. High and low back. They were all ex-RAF or RCAF stocks. Alvin5182
  12. Gents: Require a Spitfire XIV canopy (high back version) for completion of a Belgian Air Force model. Either the stock kit canopy or a Falcn/Squadron copy will do. Will pay/trade etc etc alvin5182
  13. Stupendous collection! Beautiful work! Sad part is I have all/most of those in my stash and ambitions of doing something similar to that. I have a LONG LONG way to go. Again, great work. Alvin5182
  14. Alex: I'd go with the Grey! You can't see a thing in the cockpit unless you put the pilots in anyway! alvin5182
  15. Gents: Two "Northern Lights" Hunters taken at North Bay in 2003 prior to the application of the two tone "wrap around" camo. They were doing some work for the Canadian Armed Forces at Petawawa. Alvin5182
  16. OBD: I'm guessing that means thanks, but, no thanks on the Academy decal offer! Just out of politeness! alvin5182
  17. OBD: I have the Academy set for Eileen with the checkered cowl. New and unused just in case you don't get the Microscale sheet. Alvin5182

    Lancaster Pics

A friend of mine from out west sent me the same series of photos a couple of months ago. If you look closely at photo #1 there is a "watermark" with the inscription "P Gould 09" on or near the port outer and in photo #3 it appears again at the port wingtip. They are great photos! alvin5182
  19. Mike: Very nice! Scale? alvin5182
  20. Beautiful build of an "unusual"! Congrats! Alvin5182
  21. Gents: Volume 4 of the 2nd Tactical Airforce. (to complete the set) Life is good! It was supposed to be here by X-mas! Alvin5182
  22. Jennings: Psssst! Just a hint! Airfix is coming out with a 72nd scale MK IX. I'm really tired of seeing JE*J and others. Help a guy out will ya! Alvin5182
