okay fellas, another assist, as the topic says, I am trying to get my ejection handles to look like the real thingy, however, I can never get em to look bright and crisp as I've seen by some of you guys here. Is it the paint I use-fond of model master acrylics...perhaps I should use enamels, I just want my seats to look good with those yellow and black bands or should I apply more coats-for the most part I use a toothpick to place it on. Any thoughts guys :D

yes sir, "doing things is what I like to do", and that Viper is off the charts...got put that 55th 'shooters' jet in front of this aggressor to do now, nice job man...this is another reason why I can't shake this Viper flu I got :D -
that is one beautiful Prowler, very patriotic, perhaps the best CAG scheme ever on a Prowler-me like :D

yeah, your right Jake, it was circa 1954, and the BUFF was carrying a nuclear payload to boot-scattered over a portion of Spain. Bad PR for the Air Force during the time afterward to find and locate those cruise missles, in fact the navy found one intact in the Med.
-
thanks Jake, you learn something new every day. I guess they are easily attached in time of need.
-
oh yeah my mighty F-16, but is it me or does it look like that CCIP '50' does not have the LUA-129s-appear to be the older style wingtip rails. Thanks for posting
-
As usual, hot shots man...especially love the "in the turn" shot, can't wait to see MORE-bet you can't wait for hasegawa to repop those D's now, I know what build yours will be POST MORE

Congrats Jake on that Viper ride, had to be freakin awesome Can't wait to see the pics-I actually spied that same 'D' you had the pleasure of flying in during a transient stop over at Peterson a couple years back. I just wish I could get a ride-DCANG and NJANG have turned me down on numerous occasions :D

Just picked up the same kit from Walmart as well, and it does have all of the underwing pylons, in addition to a centerline tank, a pair of sidewinders, and four MK-84 2000 pounders. Now out of box, it is a 'A' model, but as Ken said, can be made into a 'C' by changing the antennae on top of the spine of the aircraft, has LEX fences and bumps. I am acutally 30% into the build, and plan on building an 'A' model from VMFA-251.

Cool, I definately hope that plans are kept to have one do a flyby at Andrews Open House as scheduled to take place, either way, I'll be in da house-F-15E demo, BONE demo- but that would make for a cool flyby, can't wait
-
I agree fully with both Chappie and Jake...ANY air tragedy is just that, a tragedy, no aircraft built and flying is intended to depart from the sky, let alone live up to that nomenclature...you don't hear those type of remarks when a commercial jet departs the sky.

Karl, PBoiler, Waco, Murph, Sunshine, Pawlow, Cobra, Thuddriver and All- Thanks big time fellas for the explanation! That certainly adds up now. I was just curious as I have often seen this at times, and thought, hey what better security/identification protocol-heck Waco none of you guys had your visors/helmets on when you were preflighting those four transients Eagles at Peterson when I saw you, so this now makes sense to me-and then I have seen the Prowler or Hornet guy walk-up to the jet(both on land and on the boat) with visors down, so I thought it was a security protocol. Thanks once ag
-
Ok everyone, bare with me, this may be a common sense question, but I am nevertheless, curious to know whether or not this is a security/identification/regulation measure, or simply a procedure used by the aircrew invariably. The reason being, is I have often seen images/pics of both Navy and Marine aircrew preflighting or even postflighting, their aircraft-both on the boat and on land, with their visors still down. Converesly, very seldom, if almost never, have I seen USAF aircrews with their visors down. Any rhyme or reason behind this, other than they look damn cool. :(

Cool man, I have that very same sheet, and did my B-ONE up as "Uncaged." I used the Airfix kit at the time of the build, however, I wish I would have used the Monogram...that's okay though, I plan on some redemption with the Monogram kit I have now, and the CE featherless cans. Wish I could make the heavies build timeline, enjoy man.
-
Good luck with the build Don, can't wait to see some pics, any idea what scheme/unit you will depict your B-ONE in?
-
As always Ken, fine perspectives...keep em comin man...gives me my daily fix that I need
-
Man Waco, I was kinda expecting you guys to do the same thing at the acedemy flyover with your four-ship-no vectoring of course, but if that burner-run could have been directly overtop my position, I would have loved to see that ;)

saw a C-130J of the MDANG takeoff right over top of my car...very quiet, and suprisinlgy, did not use much runway at all-in fact by the time she was over the airport fence, she had to be roughly 300-400 feet up...cool BONE'S by the way Jonsey...I love that jet.
-
Mungo said it exactly...I love those beautiful *** PAVE's...the gun perspective is totally wicked.
-
Damn, the "RACERS" Block 30's are going away...politicians should go away B)
