I tried posting in the "Market Place" forum but didn't get any luck on this, so I'm hoping that maybe someone can help me here. I am wanting to build Pappy Boyington's #21 P-40 when he flew with the AVG. I am wanting to build in 1:48. The problem is finding the decals. I know that EagleCal had a sheet, EC#30, that had the 1rst Pursuit Squadron that had the #21 plane on it, but it is out of production. Does anyone know of any other decals out there for the #21 plane from the 1rst PS of the AVG that has the #21 decals on it? Or if anyone has an extra EC#30 in 1:48 or even a partial sheet w

Awesome pics Steve, thank you so much. And while I agree that it does look like the underside color, after studying them longer, I'm still not sure. If you look at the black "walkway" across the wing, almost all paint has been worn off of there exposing the natural metal finish under it. That appears to be the exact same "color" as the center inner flap "color". And also, it looks like a different "color" than the port side strut that would have been the underside color. And looking at that strut, one more thing jumps out at me....it appears to be a different color than the wheel hub, whi

Hello everyone. I have a question about the center dive flap color on the SBD-3 Dauntless. Using the reference "Camouflage & Markings: Interior Colours of US Aircraft, 1941-45 (Part III)" from IPMSStockholm web page, it says that the center dive flap and its bay interior were aluminum lacquer and not insginia red like the rest of the dive flaps. Does anyone know of any photos to confirm this? The only photos I have been able to find is from walkarounds on restored Dauntless', and it shows the center flap and bay interior to be the aircraft underside color. And also, all other models t
