  1. Heck I had no idea that sea planes were still being used for military service! Brilliant! I may have to break out my ancient Hasegawa 1/72 PS-1 now.
  2. New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees and his wife donated $5 million to the State of Louisiana to help those in need: https://www.today.com/news/drew-brees-talks-decision-donate-5-million-help-louisiana-t176971 Not sure if other sports stars or celebrities have stepped up like this, but Drew Brees and family just threw down the gauntlet for others in professional sport or Hollywood to follow. Brees just earned himself a new fan. Happy modeling all! EDIT: the link.
  3. I liked reading this! Its easy to be critical, angry, and upset during times like this. But its important to remember that there are a lot of people from all walks of life pitching in and helping out as best they can. I think the feel good stories are important to highlight. Too much doom and gloom isn't healthy in my opinion. Keep them coming folks!
  4. Well done ! Nice technique using the streaks of light grey. I think I'll give that a go on my Russian boomer when the time comes. Thanks for sharing. Happy modeling!
  5. The NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins, Giant Eagle Grocery Stores, and a local Pittsburgh landmark restaurant chain called Primanti-Bros have teamed up to help displaced employees find temporary work in the grocery stores until this all gets sorted out: https://www.nhl.com/penguins/news/giant-eagle-penguins-and-primanti-bros-partner-to-support-workers/c-316235372 I live in the country about 45-50 minutes from the 'Burgh' so these are local businesses here. Not big companies compared to some, but at least they are doing what they can to help those in need of work. As
  6. Thanks Habu2 for the info . I may actually model your car, or at least a similar version without the firebird logo on the hood. It would look good beside the Bandits ride. Happy modeling!
  7. ^^^sweet ! I may have to break out my MPC Firebird kit now. Keep smiling folks.
  8. If you have enough TP you'll be fine Steve.... Sorry, couldn't resist. Try and smile and find a laugh every now and again people. Too much doom and gloom isn't healthy either. Happy modeling!
  9. I personally don't trust one single word coming out of communist China. But that's just me.
  10. Interesting article and it certainly does open the door for some cool paint schemes. We can only hope!
  11. A new type of inverted water bomber perhaps .
  12. Agreed. All politicians everywhere including those who hide from the truth .
  13. On a hobby related note and in an effort to alleviate some of the doom and gloom, has anyone had any positives come from all of this hobby wise? "Affecting the hobby" doesn't have to be negative. I have got more done this last week then I have in months. Been on an armor kick and have a Sturmgeschutz IV ready for primer (6 days work time so far), an IS-3M almost ready for primer (same 6 days work time), and a Panther G about a quarter of the way done (2 days work time). Even my son has joined me and he's working on a 1/72 Abrams. We've been enjoying our evenings with good music, conversation,
  14. Which is actually closer to what the President said on his March 16 update to the nation, not 18 months. He said July-August but the economic ramifications will last longer (which is correct and possibly where this 18 month figure came from?). Honestly, there is so much contradictory information, misinformation, and disinformation being posted everyday by all media sources that it borders on criminal. All we can do is look after our families and communities and ride this out.
  15. At least you didn't get the ball turret gunners job. Those guys must be really small to fit under the delivery trucks.
  16. LOL nope not at all. Zoom in on the boxes and read the label . Just trying to lighten the mood during these trying times is all.
  17. "CDC operating budget plans show that its funding for global public health protection — which includes global disease detection and emergency response and global public health capacity — increased from $58 million in fiscal year 2017 to around $108 million in fiscal years 2018 and 2019. (And that does not include any remaining supplemental funds available for use.) The increases included nearly $50 million more each year for CDC’s global health security initiatives." The above from this article: https://www.factcheck.org/2020/03/false-claim-about-cdcs-global-anti-pandem
  18. TP? Really? People, get your priorities straight!
  19. Oh my...I am so very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. . Don
  20. Bathroom one of three is stocked-locked-and-ready-to-rock! And the TP stash: Stocked up on food to match: Hmmm...glad we have all that TP . Happy modeling all!
  21. Nice work on what looks to be a challenging kit . Such a unique looking sub to add alongside its sister in your cabinet. I'm just getting back into sub kits after a few years away. Currently on Zevzda's 1/350 project 955 "Borey" with the early directional rudders and diving planes. I'll follow along on your build. Happy modeling!
  22. Nice ride! Smokey and the Bandit movies are among my favorites. In black like yours its an awesome looking car. I was never a fan of the red or silver Trans Am's (wasn't there a cream color/tan color too? Those were pretty nasty). To me Trans Am's are like the Grand Nationals...any color as long as its black.
  23. Possible sure. But not probable. Odds are there will be plenty of kits left un-started or unfinished. On that note... happy modeling all!
  24. I was looking at #109 on the cutaway (labeled "oblique camera") which looks to be where the window is above the #2 in the 82 on the Enola Gay picture. In the cutaway there is another camera labeled "vertical camera" (#110 on the diagram) located right close. I have no idea. I was just going off what was labeled and trying to place it where the window was in the picture above. Perhaps someone else has the answer. Happy modeling all. EDIT: spelling.
  25. I believe its an oblique camera:
