  1. You should be able to build that bird right OOB. The early blk 32 was before beer-cans and LAU-129s were added. use the small mouth and PW option and you're good to go. Check out Habu's site for specifics. Mike
  2. I've had the same with F-111 decals. Everyone posts they want updated Vark markings and would definitely buy them. I sent all the data they asked for and I haven't heard anything. The just keep pumping out super hornet and tomcat markings for every bird on the line. I keep reading the same posts for the F-4's. People would love to have ANG markings, etc. but no one will touch them. Maybe we should start our own decal company and make the things no one else is interested in. Probably lose our butts, but we'd have the decals we wanted.
  3. I would suggest build for your pleasure and not for awards. Do you get more enjoyment out of building the kit the way you like or being praised with awards. That should guide your build. Just a thought. Mike
  4. Same here. I figure it's their way of making up for the big screw up in the first place. They lumped us in with all the other Fighting wings instead of the training wings. And when it was pointed out to them, it was too late to keep the jets. On the good side, we are keeping our flying mission and an announcement about what that is should be coming soon.
  5. Yeah, we get a nice new banner and nothing to paint it on!! Maybe we'll put it on the side of the main hangar!
  6. Flying club! That's funny!! I figured if anyone would know that answer, it surely would be you! How's the decal quest coming? I've got an F-4E just sitting around waiting for some Racer markings!!
  7. No idea, really. I'm good friends with Dave Cook who was a crew chief in Terre Haute when they had F-4s. He could give you specific dates for just about everything done there. He might know when the conversion was done, but each plane would've been repainted as it cycled through phase at depot. I'd say, if that's the bird you want to do and in that scheme, go for it. No one but it's crew chief could say you're wrong. regards, Mike
  8. Yeah, I haven't had much luck searching by serial. do a search on either F-4E or F-16Cs. plug this into your browser address line and it should come up with some pics for Fort Wayne jets. http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.sear...inct_entry=true regards, Mike
  9. that's the group I fall into... I also order 10 feet of flight line from supply all the time!
  10. The 178 FW, Ohio ANG just got another Outstanding Unit Award! Go Sabres!!
  11. OOPS! Wrong squadron. I automatically thought the 113th when I saw IANG. Go out to airliners.net and do a search. I found a bunch of pics of black snake phantoms in Euro 1 and Hill grey. regards, Mike
  12. now is that a gay, who supports terrorist? Or you support gay terrorists? Because if it's the latter, then boy are you descriminate!
  13. Ah, another benefit of my location... hobbylobby and half off sales. Now only if they'd get the M (they carry both D's). Best $15 USD ever spent!
  14. Your local hobby dealer / hobbylobby loves you!!!!
  15. they don't make an M, but their D and N are not bad. Their N is the only one around anymore, and even still better than the Promodel offering and a very nice kit. ....until the tamiya comes out....
  16. I've built the tamiya razorback (second place winner OOB w/ seatbelts) and a second one in the works. I basically stand back and let it build itself!!! I've also gotten rid of most of my hasegawa razorbacks due to the fuselage/lower wing gap.
  17. Man, I'd love to see a Revell/monogram like their F-15E and Rafale!!
  18. I'm guessing the hasegawas is their standard P-47 with the added M parts? For some reason, I had the thought it was a new kit. I should've known better. I'm ordering the tamiya from spruebrothers!!! (it's the same price as the hasegawa as well). thanks Mike
  19. Looks good! Especially for having a bad headache! unfortunately, most of mine effect my eyes, so I can't do anything during them!!! The kits a nice build! Send more pics! Mike
  20. What are the thoughts on these two kits. I know the tamiya is mostly the same molds as the D's, but how does it compare with the hasegawa?

    Bama f-4's

No red tails, but some very awesome anniversary schemes on their RF's.
  22. Didn't they mostly fly at night? I would imagine if it were a populated area, there would be air raid warnings going off as they flew over and everyone would've been hunkered down.
  23. Thanks for the info Murph. I was looking at the eduard set online and I would agree. It's mostly details for the seat. I think my best bet would be to scratch build the details for it. Any good references available? there's an early one up at the AFM now, but I imagine it is a huge leap away from what's flying today. thanks Mike
  24. What's out there for the 1/48 F-22 kit?
