  1. Nothing on your level, Manfred. Just a scene with some Harriers, one of which will be on a road transport trailer. Your build has inspired me to be a little more ambitious on the detailing than I might have been.
  2. Looking good. I've been doing a little work on my 1:24 diorama and it seems small to me. Then I remember the scale you work in: Magnificent!
  3. Should we nod if we can hear you? Or do you need some information first? 🤣 Very, very cunning plan to make such tiny parts so accurately. Had you ever considered being a vascular surgeon?
  4. Even with the help of your giant 1 cent (😁) and the scale on your cutting mat, I often forget just how tiny all these pieces are. At the moment, my head is in 1:24 world, so please ignore any stupid suggestions I make!!
  5. Hi Manfred. I must have missed your previous idea because I'm not clear why each is four parts? Could each bracket not be made from a small section of U-shaped channel? I assume (probably incorrectly) that you don't intend to have working pivot pins - but if you did, that would still only be 4 parts per rail section?
  6. Sounds like an interesting project, Rittic. I think it's great when you have a personal connection - does wonders for motivation. Looking forward to more pics of real and digital models. Kirk.
  7. Does this mean that we may be treated to another build thread soon?
  8. Love the way you are turning a little bit more Manfred with each day. Before you know it, you'll be modelling the ignition key... 😁🤪🙂🤪🤪🤪
  9. Apologies Manfred - I sometimes forget that English is not your 1st language, and write in a complicated way. I was only saying that if you made these parts any larger, they would probably be fully functional. This was a joke, as styrene/paper rockets would melt and catch fire. Also, STS-6's payload was a satellite called "TDRS-A". I just wondered if you were going to make this too?
  10. I reckon at 1:72 scale, you could have a fully working Space Shuttle system. It might only get 1:72 of the way to orbit (or less unless you can provide a 1:72 atmosphere) but it's a start.😉 Forgive me if you have mentioned before:- are you making TDRS-A too?
  11. Er - I think it is you who shows a steely determination to relentlessly progress this masterpiece. I can still remember (just!) when I first saw your work on one of the pad's many ladders and then watched in awe as the sound suppression system's pipework came together. I am not sure what I will do with myself if it is ever complete; Stop learning what is possible to model at such a tiny scale, I suppose!! 😁 I hope you stay motivated throughout 2023 and beyond...
  12. Hi Manfred. I'm guessing that the additional length comes from the chamfer on the blade? I have a vague recollection that one of the master builders I have followed - either you or Rich O - had bought a guillotine for just this sort of task. So I suppose it must have been Rich. I'm still amazed at how leniently the carpet monster is treating you with these tiny parts; my local one gobbles any styrene ( no matter how large) that makes it to within a metre of my cutting mat...
  13. Is it 1.25mm, or am I missing something? (Thanks for your explanation of how you scale, by the way. It had genuinely never occurred to me to scale directly from the screen. It makes great sense.)
  14. I'm hoping that you don't read the dimensions from a conventional steel ruler, Manfred. A digital vernier with a large screen can be had for much less than you must spend on styrene each week... 😄
  15. Looks fabulous! I always had it in my head that the Agena was much larger - (I guess the ones I saw in the pictures were closer to the capsule than I thought) - and your model does a fantastic job of correcting this. What's next?
  16. Hey Manfred. Is the Artemis launched from an evolution of the same platform that you have built for this model?
  17. Rich O also built an awesome crawler in something like 1:72 scale. Not sure if he still posts on that other site - many of the really good modellers there left. If I remember correctly, some of that launch assembly was from a kit. I think Manfred was/is friends with him and may know.
