  1. Panel fitting update. Thank you Richard. The Stuka is an impressive plane, isn’t it? This is the second time I build a Ju87. The first was a Heller Hi-Tech kit in 1:48, about ten years ago, modeled in the scheme used for the battle of Crete. Actually these planes were used to wipe off my dad’s village in Crete during WWII! As soon as I am done with my current projects I will get another one, a “tankbuster†this time. I am all done with my panel repairs and here are the results. I am sure it could be done better. The panels fit and stay in place without any help, although I am think
  2. OK, here is my “solutionâ€. Beware though, you try this at the risk of wrapping – deforming your model. I will not be responsible for any damage you may do by following this procedure. See the before picture bellow. I placed the panels in place and forced them to stay there with cable ties. I thought of using either the hot water technique or a hair dryer. I opted for the hair drier for more control. I set the hair drier on hot – low speed and worked around the area I wanted to conform to the contours of the body. I figured the plastic will soften somewhat, remain in place and wh
  3. Thanks Mikester. Here are some more
  4. Greetings to all Here are some pictures of my just completed (?) Airfix 1:24 Ju87 Stuka, N. Africa 1941. Despite its age and flaws this model was a joy to research and build. No aftermarket parts, just out of the box with minor scratch build details. I am currently looking for ways to keep the cowl and panels removable while they fit snuggly in place. I have some ideas but if anyone has tackled something similar in the past I am open to suggestions.
  5. By the way, after almost 5 months of touch and go my bort 305 is getting there..
  6. Will these do? Thanks to Airliners.net and Americo Maia for the pics and to you Zacto for the great work you are doing. EDIT: Guys- Harvesting pictures from airliners.net and uploading them here is the same as hotlinking them. I'm not sure where the other image came from, but it might very well fall under the same category. If you wish to re-post a hyperlink to the photo from airliners.net, fine, but no hotlinking or uploading. Thanks for your cooperation.

  8. Richy!! I know it has been a long time since you last posted pictures but I'm new here ;-) I am preparing to paint my 1/32 Trumpeter Flanker with the 305 color scheme. I have a lot of pictures but I could use some more close-up to figure out the colors better. It appears there are 5 different shades of grey plus white (left and right covers, behind the radome). Help.... Please PM me or email me if you can send me some photos.
  9. Hi you all. I have been drooling for a long time over Trumpeter’s big SU-27. My initial idea was to built the beautiful grey/blue Ukrainian bird, Bort 56. Then I saw the new SU-27SK or SU-27SMK bort 305 at the Paris show and got hooked on it. There were no decals for either bird so I sat my arse down and began looking at pictures and taking measurements. I eventually made my own set of decals – only those that differ from the original sheet - so if anyone wants them I can send you the file to print your own. You will need clear and white decal paper. I am almost finished with my big proj
