  1. I ordered a dual action AB-128 airbrush with a can of propellant from Everything Airbrush last week, it arrived and as soon as I connect the air can, it blows out of the nozzle of the airbrush straight away without me touching the airbrush trigger back or forth, gave them a ring and they said, sending me replacment parts to fix the airbrush, they did suggest to me I could send it back for a replacment, or they would simply send the needed parts to fix the problem ... Since I'm technically minded, I suggested the latter, I had studied the airbrush provided diagram and reckoned I could fix it.
  2. That is superb work my friend. I recently did some research on this kit, and apparently its not the easiest to go together and those reviews put me off buying one on Ebay. Your hard work has paid off though, very nice indeed and yes, this is a very interesting aircraft. Hope you sort the tail sitting afterthought though
  3. You are right, I did notice after I posted that Archer wanted info on the Emil 109 tailwheel, but glad I Googled it, found some fascinating information on the 109 in general as a side result that went on tangents providing me with a lot of info on my future builds of other aircraft I imagined the tail wheel steering on the 109 family would be generic though. Good informative thread this one
  4. Nice one, very eye catching. I really must stop buying so many new kits and get round to building them, did say I would start my Tamiya P-47 straight away, but I guess ... as a born again modeller the temptation to build a stash and see how model technology has improved in my absence has got the better of me ... getting back into the hobby has proved very addictive. My New Years resolution is to stop stashing and to start building. I have already amassed enough kits and ideas on how to build them for a life time Hope my P-47 looks as good as yours.
  5. I honestly think Trumpeter kits are not as expensive as Tamiya for the same scale, at least in the UK. I mentioned elsewhere that the new Trumpeter 1/32 ME262 is the same price or cheaper than the Tamiya 1/48 ME 262, depending on where you buy of course, but there is very little in it. I'd also say Trumpeter are improving with leaps and bounds on each new release. I cant vouch for the new Mig29 or A-7, but the ME 262 I bought and read reviews about recently is outstanding and would need little to no aftermarket parts and would build oob very nicely.
  6. I went to Hannant's last night after reading your post and pre-ordered the Nimrod and got an email confirmation of my order. One will do me fine, in fact it will be the only 1/72 scale kit in my collection, have to have it though as I live close to RAF Kinloss and see them flying nearly every day.
  7. I'd like to see Trumpeter do ... Tornado GR4 Jaguar GR3 and/or T4 Harrier GR7 for prop its a long time since we have seen a new 1/32 ... Spitfire and Hurricane Also like to see a 1/32 P-39 Airacobra and if Tamiya don't do that rumoured P-47 maybe Trumpeter could?
  8. I think so. In this image the 109 seems to have its tail wheel turned with the rudder. EDIT But from reading the following article it seems the 109 had a castoring tailwheel and would be locked for the take off run. The pilot steered on the ground with the brakes on the main wheels. clickety click
  9. Just found this thread and spent about 30 minutes going through it, absolutely incredible stuff and brilliant photography, especially those sunset pictures. Any Harriers Fred?

Good luck on the Corsair diorama Richard. I have one of the Tamiya 1/48 Corsairs and its a really nice kit. Hope to see a picture once you have finished the project. Cheers.

    Tamiya prop action

Thanks Richard I will be building the Kawanishi Kyofu I won on eBay with the propeller motor, as you say it will be to do something different rather than my more usual aircraft builds. As you can see from the picture, this kit would make a nice diorama in the landing or taking off phase, it will also expand and develop my skills in trying to model a realistic water and wake effect on the base. I've already built one of these without the electric motor and I know it builds really well with little sanding or filler, so I don't think it would take too long to finish and it would be a fun build
  13. Thanks. I'm really looking fwd to this one.
  14. Another vote for the Tamiya 1/32 Zero here. I bought one a while ago knowing it would be good, but when you open the box and examine the parts ... Its like WOW. I've actually started building mine and will probably do another one once its finished. Hope the rumours of a Tamiya 1/32 P47 to the same standard are true? I'm starting to like 1/32 scale now, with my recent Trumpeter P38 and ME262, just need to find the space to display them once they are finished.
  15. Have any of us tried the Tamiya Prop action kits in 1/48 ... I think they do the Zero in 1/32 as an option as well? I bought the Tamiya 1/48 Skyraider in the prop action series from Ebay recently, but will build it with or without prop action once I get around to it. Today I won the Tamiya 1/48 Kyofu Type 11 prop action on Ebay, it struck me , this was the perfect model to depict a seaplane landing and finally display it in a small area. If the Skyraider kit is anything to go by, the Kyofu Type 11 will have a similar base, this base could be made to look like water with the usaul wake from t
