  1. Nice haul Curt! Now which one are ya bringin to the meetin on Saturday!!! Looks like fun you're havin... Here is how we decorated our Christmas Tree last year. Have to add to it this year... Happy Holiday's Cheers, Larry.
  2. Thanks Luc! Well it was a long time ago when I built this model but I was able to find an old picture of what I did to the front wheel well. I honestly don't remember ever doing it but I gots the shot of it so I guess I did? Hmmmm decals. I think I used Microscale decals but lets see what was the sheet number... Well it was 48-239. I'm surprised I still have the instuctions and a few spare decals plus the kit decals. As far as rescribing goes, the plastic was no better or worse to work with than any other's I've rescribed except for the new Revell plastic on there F/A-18E which is too so
  3. That means allot Richard, Thanks! Thanks Mr. Afterburner, I appreciate that! Thank you very much Chuck. Back in the day though, it didn't seem like that big a deal of a build. Everything I built was allot of work, I just wish I could build as fast as back then! I'm in the middle of an F/A-18E that's driving me crazy! Some day though I'll get it. Cheers, Larry.
  4. Wow, I remember when "Scale Modeler" first reviewed this back in a, a, a, well it was quit some time ago (anyone know what year that was?) and I thought it looked great then and it still looks good today. Nice build! Cheers, Larry...
  5. Here is a close up of Dave Newman's M2-F1 that was at the AVG Desert Classic XI on November 3rd. Sorry it took so long just lots going on... And for those who wanted a few detail shots of my SR-71A here are a few... It' doesn't look to bad being built in 1985, what do you'all think? Cheers, Larry.
  6. This is one of the coolest Phantom shots. DOD photo at China Lake... China Lake open house 1991 I think, QF-4N. It ain't real but I've yet to see a Michigan ANG phantom and this is the only shot of one I got. Second place winner at the 1984 Nationals in Atlanta... Cheers, Larry.
  7. Go easy... Who you tryin to kid here? That Monogram Tomcat looks GREAT!!! I know the box say's Revell but it's Monogram all the way Baby! GREAT JOB on that one man. Cheers, Larry.
  8. YEEEEEAH! Finally someone has some good shots!!! I asked a while ago http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....4195&hl=ecs for some down the throat shots of the older ECS exhausts and here they are! COOL BEANS!!! Thanks for posting Nick! Cheers, Larry.
  9. Thanks man, as soon as I get the right background paper I'll be takin more shots. Thanks James, as I said above waiting for some background paper to shoot more shots. Appreciate that Anthony! Look for more shots soon! I'm the one that is fortunate to have people here that will help out when the need arose. I thank you very much for your assistance! Thanks again Richard! I'll ask Mike Valdez about shots of that F-22, it's his bird. Thanks Nimrod I'll have some soon but after 22 years the covers look better from a distance I'm affraid. Thanks for the Whoa! M2-F1 belongs to Da
  10. Thank you all for your kind words. I will get some more shots of it soon and post them up... It was a pretty big hit at the Contest yesterday in the display for the AVG group. It looked big next to all those little airplanes. LOL!!! Cheers, Larry.
  11. This model went through a little crash some time ago and looked rather dreary but I needed to get it back in shape for this Saturday's AVG display at the AVG's Contest. It took a little bit to get it cleaned up and back in service but I think it will look alright setting next to the other builds in the display. Thanks Guy's: Mark Houpt, Moose 135, The Rat, and Hans, for their pictures of the Pitot tube configuration, couldn't have done it without your help!!! So here is what it looks like after I got it all put back together and put the new pitot on. 1/48th scale Testors Hope to see you a
  12. FANTABULOUS Guy's Those will do nicely. I appreciate all your responses and pictures! Right click SAVE!!! As soon as I get some shots with the new pitot probe on it I'll post them for your critique! Thanks again one and all! Cheers, Larry
  13. Can anyone help me find a closeup of the port, starboard, top, bottom of the Nose pitot for the SR-71A? Thanks Cheers, Larry.
  14. I'm in the middle of the Revell F/A-18E and after finally getting the cockpit the way I wanted I was able to fit the nose section. It took a bit of work to get it to fit flush all the way round without using any filler other than the ACC that I used to assemble it. First time I've used ACC to assemble the main parts of a model and I tell you it's a bit hectic but I am determined. Look hard at where you need shims or places to butt the assemble up so it doesn't sink in and you should be able to fit it okay. Like I was saying so far I'm not using any putty as a filler I've been able to fit it
  15. Don't know what scheme you are planning but this is a good shot taken at NAF China Lake a long time ago. Cheers, Larry.
  16. Thanks Darren. How about it Brian M. Do you have any or can you get some that show the details of the early ECS vents? I've been looking at the Revell and Hasegawa representations and it looks like at least Revell tried to capture something like what they looked like but not enough relief and Hasegawa just milled out the whole area. Sure there is enough relief but no diverter partitions whatsoever. So I'm drilling and filing out a Revell extra upper fuselage to see how to best represent these but would sure like to see what they look like from the extreme top and at angles to see which way e
  17. This one is an interesting one. Cheers, Larry.
  18. Thanks Gregg. I've got all those but I was looking for some that would get closer to and maybe into how the ducts actually go. I'm sure they go forward but how deep and how sharp of a turn type of deal. I do however appreciate your reply very much! Cheers, Larry.
  19. I've got a couple shots from the web but if anyone has some better more detailed referance shots it would sure make scratch building them much easier! Thanks for any help you'all can give me. Cheers, Larry.
  20. Well it's a good shot and I put a protractor up to it and the left one is at 70 degree's and the right one is at 71 degrees so I'm inclined to think that it's probably at 70 degrees. Thanks much Cheers, Larry.
  21. Hi folks. Just wondering if anyone knows the correct angle of the Vertical Sabilizers on the F/A-18E/F. The Revell instructions don't say but there is a drawing that shows them at about 72 degrees but I'm not sure that is correct. Anyone know the actual angle these are canted at? Thanks Larry.
  22. Miramar, 87-88 I can't recall... My house this year of a Haswgawa 1/48th F-14A I built in 1989. Cheers, Larry.
  23. Leave m off Looks good without m... Cheers, Larry
  24. You may want to contact Dave Roof at Orion Models and see if he's doing these F/A-18 legacy sheets in 1/72nd scale. Looks like just what you need but these are in 1/48th scale. Hope that helps a little anyway... Cheers, Larry.
