I agree, ordered 2 runners with the tails for the F-14D, got them in 3 days and the box was packed like it was going round the world ten times! George fixed me up as well with the part numbers, and the phone number! Flippin awesome service for sure! Thanks George Canare and Tamiya!

Thanks George! Be talkin to them soon. Man, that was painless! That sprue was less than $5.00 + tax and shipping.

Part number for the sprue with the Tails in the D model?

Untill the outside looks right, why worry about seat belts. Get this correction first! It will really make it look like a Phantom stem to stern! https://www.hypersonicmodels.com/product/f-4-phantom-fuselage-correction Cheers! Larry

You and me both! Should be an exceptional model and accurate too! What a concept... Likely a good value even if it's a couple C notes! I wonder how long it will actually take Jeffrey to get this one to the box...

EXCELLENT explanation Gary! I asked a VF213 maintainer that I work with now and she said exactly the same thing, SHOWERS for everyone! HAHAHA! Cheers Larry

Gents, I've looked for F-4N BuNo 150996 modex NF106 VF-161 from the Midway 1973-75, but can't seem to find a shot of both sides... Since there has been so much help on this post, I was thinking that someone could magically show me where a few pictures might be. Cheers Larry

Dehowie say's: 'When you can stand beside the real thing with a kit fuselage in hand and compare the two and scratch your head going where is the error it aint worth fixing something that aint broke." Well, I've stood by (within the last WEEK to be exact), real F-4's, but before, I photographed it, and posted it after the Zoukie-Mura kit was released and, the people that will spend boatloads of $$$ on an incorrect cockpit and say that the so and so kit is incorrect can't see that the Zoukei-Mura fuselage a$$ end ain't FUBAR just blows my mind! Accuracy of the outside of the F-4 sho

Use NETZ suggestion for some GREAT resultz!

Jumpei Temma is putting together some of the best drawings for the F-4 I've ever seen, including fastener lines and the like. http://www.geocities.jp/yoyuso/f4/f4-1.html

Elmo, I think they'd rather hear about your incredible shrinking machine you've been using! We still on for taking pictures when you complete this magnificent A-6E? Surely hope so! Cheers my good man! Larry

It appears to me that ZM may have used a British Spey engined Phantom to size up that misshapen rear end of the C,D,J,S. I'm sure there are skeptics about that too. Cheers Larry

Possibly the definitive drawings are showing up so we can all have a treat. Amazing eyes Jun has, and I can't wait for the actual English translation that will likely go along with these. I know there are, or will be skeptics, but IMHO these are superlative! http://www.geocities.jp/yoyuso/f4/f4-2.html#last

Really stubborn old paint, what to use to remove it
Incaroad replied to lesthegringo's topic in Tools 'n' Tips
I would be leery of using that caustic oven cleaner on an airbrush... To clean old paint from metal, or plastic use Mr. Color Lacquer thinner. That stuff will soften paint quickly and then rinse with regular lacquer thinner. Doesn't harm plastic either so stripping paint from a model is easy. Just my 2¢ Larry -
I would certainly agree with your statement.

Jonathan, I agree with you on this kit being off... Take a look here http://www.network54.com/Forum/149674/message/1483831281 Cheers Larry

Seems there is no "Add to Cart" button next to the F-35A/B decals. I've refreshed the browser with no results. Like to order, but nowhere to add to cart prevents this for me at least. Cheers Larry

I can't wait to take pictures of this when completed... Hell I'd take pictures along the way if I could! This is just magnificent in every way imaginable! We'll certainly be talking Elmo!!!

Update sir! This instrument panel is very fine indeed, but we need an update! Hope the New Year finds my projects making some headway as well! Cheers Larry

Something you should consider casting are the vents next to the vertical stabilizer bases. The Monogram parts look so much nicer... I'm sure you have plenty to pull a casting from. I replaced the substandard Hasegawa vents with Monograms and it looked 100% better! Tamiya's parts don't look as good as Monograms either...

Anything China Lake Rex, anything! Some day I'll finish a few that are started...mainly 142122 VX-5 then off to a Rhino...149452 in QF-4B livery... Cheers my good man! Larry
