  1. MRVARK! Thank you for the information and the photos. They are very nice. And indeed it can be clearly seen that the stripes are a different color. Thank you for drawing my attention to it. Roland
  2. Thanks for the hint. I'll browse the forum then. Roland
  3. Eric, Murph, thank you for the information! I was aware of the turkey feathered exhaust nozzle, but thanks for reassuring me, because in the photo I saw the nozzles are covered, so one can only guess. In this same photo (it can be seen here: http://home.wanadoo.nl/patricknieuwkamp/pics.html ) it is clearly seen that the two small antennas under the nose are missing and also that the aircraft is already painted in the Ghost Grey paint scheme. In the Squadron Signal book there is a drawing of this aircraft in the Air Superiority Blue scheme, but it also has white letters and numbers on the ver
  4. Hi everybody I recently bought the Academy 1/72 F-15C. With the decals included in the box one can build a nice Ghost Grey F-15C from Elmendorf AFB, Alaska (with a beautiful nose art). However, my decals are a little bit out of register, so in spite of the fact that I got a couple of very good reference photos of this aircraft from Mungo1974 (thank you very much again for them!), I decided to build it as an early F-15A from Luke AFB. To be more specific, it is the number 73-103 aircraft with bright red&white stripes (resembling D-day invasion stripes) on the nose section and the wings.
  5. Hi DJG1, I don't know if it helps. Revell included in one of their 1/72 Tornado kits a No.9 Sqdn "Johnny Walker", though it is a GR.1 version. Its serial number is ZD 748. Best wishes, Roland
  6. Hi Bob, first of all, let me congratulate on the good job you are doing there at Twobob's! I'm glad you have chosen a Hungarian topic! Just in case you may want to inform your customers, let me draw your attention to the fact that Hungarian Gripens are equipped with a different, so-called "NATO-compatible" weapon pilon developed -as far as I know- by Denel from South Africa. I searched the Internet for a good picture, but the only one I found is this: http://www.jetfly.hu/rovatok/tipusok/jas39/gripen_050306/ Yes, it's in Hungarian, but just scroll down, and you can see a good shot of the
  7. Hi Gary, I have received your mail. Thanks a lot for the pictures! They are of great help! Best wishes, Roland
  8. Gary, thank you very much for your reply. I sent you my e-mail address using the little PM icon in the lower left section, but maybe I did something wrong, and you didn't get it. If so, please let me know, and I'll try to do it again. I would really like to see a photo of the real plane before doing it because there are a number of uncertain things about the Academy decal-placing drawing. Thank you very much again. Roland
  9. Hi Mungo1974. Do you happen to have any pictures of the 79-075 bird from Elmendorf? I recently bought the 1:72 Academy F-15C kit and this is the only option that comes with the kit (I’m happy about it, since I want to build an AK Eagle). It has a nice nose-art: the silhouette of Alaska with the inscription “Anchorage†across it (similar to the one carried by the 21st TFW bird on the Superscale sheet 72-583). I am looking for information about this particular plane, and also about this period of time when Elmendorf Eagles carried this nose-art (to be more specific, I would like to know i
  10. It’s me again. I just checked my links and realized that the Gripen decal is not listed in the English section of the TOFF website. So if you want to see it you should get a Hungarian dictionary :) , or follow my instructions: click the Hungarian flag, then click â€Makettekâ€, then â€Kiegészítők†/all of these are on the left/. After this, find â€Matricák†on top of the right side of the window, click and scroll down to the bottom. There you are. Best wishes, Roland
  11. Hello Tiger331. What you are looking for, actually, is the patch of the 59th TFW. For more details about the TFW and Kecskemét Air Base you can check out the following link: http://www.mh59.hu/rovatok/en/base/ As for the Hungarian Gripen decals, two Hungarian companies have already produced decals in 1/72: TOFF (www.toff.hu) and Hungarian Armour Decals (www.had.hu). However, both of them provide the coloured insignia as carried by the first production aircraft. The aircraft in service will carry the toned down one (http://www.jetfly.hu/rovatok/tipusok/jas39/felsegjel/) Good luck! Rola
