  1. I too have built the Trumpeter SBD and am completely satisfied with the end product. I used Model Master acrylic paints, Future followed by Promodeller weathering wash and then Model Master dull coat.
  2. Thanx for the comments Bruce. I suspect the dipole antennas, which I suspect they are ADF antennas, refer to the two antennas on each door with the antenna strung fore and aft which would not impede the use of the door (our old Daks had similar antennas under the nose forward of the wing). The reference I have is a series of photo copies from an unspecified manual showing drawings of the various positions/stations (pilot, nav, radio operator, sonobuoy operator,...) and is likely the same source Dave at Leading Edge used for his instruction sheet. Said pages indicate that while other RCAF varia
  3. I'm working towards an RCAF Lanc Mk-XMR/MP. My limited reference material indicates said version had one additional fuel tank in the bomb bay. Anybody know whether it was carried in the forward or aft bay and would anyone have drawings/locations of stores such as weapons and/or SKADs (Survival Kit Air Droppable) carried??????

    Avenger Interior

The Black Box Avenger cockpit detail set provides the pilot's seat back cushion. Anybody know what color (leather/black/brown or fabric/olive drab/grey????)
  5. Bruce, you might well be right. Had a look in the nose of one of our Dash 8s (Gonzos at 402 Sqn) and sure enough the bottle there was green. Amazing! You fly an aircraft for eight years, check the nose compartment that contains the oxygen bottle on each 'external' and does the colour of the bottle register? Apparently not.
  6. A black-and-white picture in which the tank is just visible in the background.
  7. Interior green seems to be the consensus for the general interior. How about those three oxygen bottles? Yellow as I would expect, black as can be seen in at least one photo or (as I very much doubt) red as specified in the Trumpeter instructions????
  8. I'm well on my way to building a 32nd Trumpeter/Black Box post war RCN TBM-3E as initially received from the USN in the early '50s with the turret still in place. Anybody got any definitive info on interior colours? Specifically, Interior Green overall? More specific, the three oxygen bottles - black as one can just see in Squadron's Walkaround or yellow as one would expect as the 'standard' colour in the post war period.
