  1. Looking good, although these clear parts.... I don´t think any of the german Seakings had ever been equipped with a SONAR, they were bought for transport and SAR-duties. They received some upgrade to carry Sea Skua-missiles in the early 90ies, but these weapons already were removed and handed over to the MFG 3 (Marinefliegergeschwader - Naval Air Wing) and their Sea Lynx. HAJO
  2. What do you mean by "accurate"? Overall quality or what? I have the kit here and the decals look quite good! Here you can see a german review with pictures: http://www.modellversium.de/kit/artikel.ph...p;origin=sparte HAJO
  3. If you need any pictures of the real one or it´s base: I´m living in Kiel where the Seakings are based! HAJO
  4. Oh... Well, propably the main reason why I look at this kit with some horror is that I built 4 of the newer Revell Seakings, and they look much better and have more detail. But I´m sure you will do fine here! HAJO
  5. No masking, all spots are brush painted. It´s one of those jobs where you say "Oh, it´s terrible, but I LOVE it!". HAJO
  6. Oh, I didn´t knew that the Airfix-kit does come with the older grey and orange version! Of course I noticed that you´re going to do the "Old" scheme, I just had no idea where you would get the decals for it. HAJO
  7. Oh my god, my Bronco has small-pox... Love the camoflage, was a lot of work, but the effect was worth it! HAJO
  8. Oh my god, have fun with that Airfix-kit... A friend of mine built it some months ago, he said it was the pure horror. What decals are you going to use? HAJO
  9. Maybe my pictures will help you: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....yboss&st=20 HAJO
  10. And finally, green grey, Revell 67: HAJO
  11. Sorry, I didn´t posted the updates. The model has been painted, just watch the three steps: Gunship grey:
  12. OK, most of the construction is done, next step will be painting the beast! Until now I didn´t attached the gun-mount, I wanted to see how the bird looks "clean". I added an A-4 Skyhawk-style refueling probe and ESM-sensors on the tail. Also new are a pair of chaff/flare-launcher openings on each boom. I added an additional pair of pylons, so this Bronco has 4 hardpoints. I plan to add two fuel-tanks and two quadruple Hellfire-launchers. HAJO
  13. And the engines! You´ll never guess what I used for the additional intake and the new exhaust: I first planned to use plastic straws (OK, I did it for the suppressors) but then my view fell on the not used engine of an Alouette III by Heller. So I cut the two engine halfs in the middle and got a nice new intake (formerly the exhaust) and an exhaust (formerly the turbine section). HAJO
  14. Some progress. I found a solution to upgrade the engine section with some details, pictures of that later. First some impressions of the main-section, with a new installed HUD, crew in it´s seats and a FLIR that I made a bit longer. I will also mount the TADS some time later, it will be behind the gun-mount and provide side-angle and back-view target acquisition. HAJO
  15. I already thought about installing a TADS from the AH-64 at the nose. Problem is, as much as I´d like to put a lot o sensors and stuff to this bird, these things are draggy as hell. I know I´m installing more powerful engines, but at a certain point all the lumps and bumps would slow that Bronco down - regardless of the power. Thorsten, of course I know that NOGS, I have built one years ago. This time I took the M230 because it´s quality over quantity. ;-) No rear-firing stuff, but I thought about doing some IR-disco-light analogue to the one on top. Well, I will keep you informed abou
  16. Hmm, I´m afraid I don´t dare to touch the wing-tips... As for the engine-nacelles: I´m still looking for good ideas, so far haven´t found much... The pilots are from Italeris Pilots & Ground Crew set, I corrected their arms a little bit to make them sit in the cockpit. HAJO
  17. OK, some more pictures. The first one shows the parts I´m very happy with: The props. I used some kind of form to give each blade the same angle and it turned out quite good I think. Then up to the new designed engines, dryfitted to the wing. As you can see I glued the motor-front-plates upside down. This time I did it for purpose, last time I did so was when I built a OV-10A as a contest model and had a major brain malfunction... And the new gun system. As you can see it´s a M230 stolen from an Italeri AH-64, but the mount is coming from a Revell Tiger-helicopter. This wi
  18. Hihihihiiiii.............. A 30mm M230..... :( HAJO
  19. I started my kit! http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....howtopic=195021 HAJO
  20. Thanks to some creative modeller who thought in public about updating a Bronco to a modern COIN-aircraft (http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=191006&hl=Bronco) I started my newest project. At first I have to say that I admire those modellers that have the patience and precision to scratchbuild parts, preferrebly multiple parts of the same size. I can try to do 6 identical rods and end up with 6 that don´t look like each other. And this will be a problem here since I plan to do a lot of things that needs to be symmetric. Well... OK, the kit I´ve chosen is Academys wo
  21. Have you tried the Revell homepage and looked if they have a pdf of their MH-53 online? They are both the same kits. HAJO
  22. I built the Revell kit more than a year ago and was VERY disappointed - propably mostly because the kit made a great first appearance when I saw it initially. Crispy details and stuff like that. In the end I had to rework every single piece, nothing really had a good fix, decals had to be replaced... So, for me it was a real modelbuilding process, sometimes I prefer the bake´n´shake method. :) HAJO
  23. OK, interiour is pretty much done. For the pilots I used two figures of Italeris Pilot & Ground Crew Set. I had to model a helmet for the port-side pilot using Plasto since he came "naked". As you can see I then painted the result in camoflage colours, no need to have a better and closer look at this... The room itself is rather crowded, I wonder how it will be if they pick up one or two downed pilots! The ammo-belt for the minigun is made of paper, I hope it will be flexible enough to fit to the gun when I attach it later. Lumps and bumps and rucksacks are from Goffy, they loo
