  1. No joy on the link, but for other interested viewers, is it this one? http://www.modellversium.de/kit/artikel.ph...p;origin=sparte HAJO
  2. I built the kit some years ago and changed it into a RESCO-version. I don´t remember having any problems with the model, except the fact that the front window has a vertical frame which is, AFAIK, not present at the original aircraft. I post some pictures of the finished model here: Don´t get confused, I added a lot of scratchbuilt details for the RESCO-version... The finished model: HAJO
  3. There is a tanker missing on the pictures... :) HAJO
  4. Well, I´d love to do a display as shown above, but for all that wiring and lighting stuff I´d most likely need my brothers help. And that would be a dumb idea, since it´s him to get the finished model as a christmas gift.. :D HAJO
  5. Very nice model! But are you guys sure the iranians got any AIM-54 Phoenix-missiles at all? I thought they haven´t been delivered when they got their F-14s in the mid-70ies. HAJO
  6. OK, here is a picture of the current status. Unfortunately I just checked the pictures of the original and had to discover that my yellow tail-band is a bit too far to the aft... Need to correct that today. HAJO
  7. Thanks a lot for the help, much appreciated! HAJO
  8. Yeah, a really good feeling. Especially since I applied the second coat yesterday and it worked like a charm! Maybe I find time today to start the white coat that will be the base for the yellow tail-band. I will post pictures later on. HAJO
  9. I´m planning to make some of my own, just using a mirror-foil and glue a half "Super-Connie" in 1/144-scale on it! I will report the progress as soon as I have started. HAJO
  10. First coat of the final colour! For some reason the paint went on reeeaally bad, which is quite unusual for Revells grey 374. Maybe the model itself was a bit greasy... Anyway, here is what it looks like at the moment, I defintely need to apply another coat: HAJO
  11. Any progress on the St. Maarten 747 so far? Or did I just miss the thread? HAJO
  12. That kind of intake is the same the AC-130U Spectre has, at least in the AMT/ESCI-kit. HAJO
  13. Great, another Herk! I will follow this build closely, maybe I can learn something before I´ll start my Airfix AC-130. Although this model here looks more likte the Italeri-kit... HAJO
  14. Figures are from Preiser, I used a quite interesting mix of german wehrmacht soldiers and US GIs in 1/72 as well as 1/87 scale... I can really recommend the figur-sets from Preiser, they are wondful sculpted and have a lot of details. And as a plus, they are molded in "normal" plastic, so you can use normal plastic glue. HAJO
  15. I have to say that I wasted some of my building time on the weekend to start working on two Humvees, using the RoG "TOW and Ambulance Humvee"-set. The kits are great and I will do them as special forces humvees: The former ambulance humvee: Both Humvees, after I did all the main conversions of the former ambulance who will later carry the TOW-launcher, I started the other one who will carry a MK.19 grenade launcher. The modelling of the crew is usually the most time-consuming process. They will form up a nasty SF-patrol with my already finished SF-humvee when done: HAJO
  16. OK, were able to work on it during the weekend, and made some serious steps. At first, the building process itself has been finished, the model is now ready for the first layers of paint: I think on this picture I already applied the first coat of white on the doghouse, the tail and the bottom, using RoGs acryllic white. I will paint the orange day glo as one of the last colours, since this color will be pretty sensitive to touching. So I continued with the grey camo. First the top coat of the "old scheme", using RoGs no. 43: Then it´s Revells 77 (dark grey) and 75 (light grey) for t
  17. What version are you going to build? HAJO
  18. OK, nearly all parts are glued on! I realized that the panel can be clearly seen through the front screen so I decided to add some wirings. I used a piece of paper, a needle and a thread: Just pinched the needle several times through the paper, cutting off the thread at appropiate length after each "leg" and finally glued the paper with all the "wiring" on the backside of the panel. The next step will be the mounting of the front screen and then painting the whole bird. HAJO
  19. OK, some progress to report: I finished the interior, although I did nothing to improve the details - since the kit will be displayed with closed doors, I saw no need to waste my precious time... I already glued the halves together, right now I´m sitting in my office, and the model is waiting in the car to be brought to my parents house. I will work on it during this weekend and hopefully finish all the glueing, so I can start painting next time I visit my parents. HAJO

    Thank you! HAJO

    Airfix Pucara

Airfix has a 1/72 Pucara??? Fill me in! HAJO
  22. Have a look at my builds: AC-130U (ESCI/AMT) http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....&hl=ac-130u And my finished AC-130H (ESCI) http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....&hl=AC-130H HAJO
  23. Wasn´t able to do much over the weekend, but I did some search concerning the Tail-No. It revealed that Airfix (and then, later, Italeri) made a mistake when they labelled their HH-53 as one of the Son Tay aircraft. According to thepavecave.com the aircraft with the serial-no. 785 (coming with the kit) has an impressive history as well: Oct 1980 – 3 week TDY operating from the Royal Aircraft Establishment airfield at West Freugh, SW Scotland. Task was to sling load RF-4C wreckage from Cairnsmore of Fleet and F-111E wreckage from Craignaw. Artifacts and photographs from the task are displaye
  24. The kit comes with decals for a SEA-version of the aircraft that took part in the Son Tay-mission. I will use the decals (which are nearly the same) from the Italeri SEA-version and have a deep look in my spare-box to get some decals for the grey version. HAJO
