  1. Good to hear that I could motivate you... :D I know several people who bought the Atlantic but so far only very few of them built it. Which is a shame, the kit and the aircraft are wonderful. Looking forward for some more pictures of your progress! HAJO
  2. Yes, I´m living in germany, in the northern most state called Schleswig-Holstein, to be precise. To be exact: I live in Kiel, where the Marinefliegergeschwader (Naval Air Squadron) 5 is located, they fly the Seaking you can see in the background. Concerning your problems with the nose-cone, I think I know what went wrong. But that´s not your fault since the assembly sheet is awful in this case: They want you to glue the nose-halves together and and THEN attach it to the main airframe. But this is impossible since you can´t get the pins, located on the inside of the nose, get over the airfr
  3. Well, I don´t know, but what do you think would be a proper place for personal weapons? My guess is that with a broken back even a sidearm on a hip-holster can be "unreachable", simply because you can´t move without having pain. Personal weapons not only have to be at a place where they can be grabbed quickly, but also where they are not in the way for daily work/operations. And at a place where they don´t do more damage when the aircraft crashes... Nearly offtopic: This reminds me of my time in the german army, my personal UZI was located right of my head at the inner sidewall of the ta
  4. Sorry for jumping in, but are you sure the iranians had the Phoenix? HAJO
  5. I did. Why did you got discouraged? It´s really a great kit. HAJO
  6. Yep, that are exactly the parts I mean. I have also tried a airliner.net search but didn´t came up with any pictures of this particular FLIR-system. HAJO
  7. I made it freehand, but didn´t used a brush but a black edding pen for the spots. Took me about one hour while watching TV... ;) These usually nerve wrecking works are what I like most. HAJO
  8. Looking good! What experiences did you had with the NH-90? It will be my next build after i finished my EC-145. And speaking of the 145: What kit did you use? Securité Civile or ADAC? I ask because I´d like to see the original instructions for the FLIR, the Securité-version doesn´t mention it on the instruction sheet... HAJO
  9. Flyboy: That would be great, much appreciated! vflight: I will look for pics, but the FLIR that comes with the kit is strangely shaped (not that typical "round" shape) and I don´t know if it´s in use anywhere because I have never seen such thing before. HAJO
  10. This is the actual status of my EC-145 by Heller. I have some kind of Eurocopter-phase at the moment, having completed two Tigers, another EC-145 by Revell, now this EC-145 and a NH-90 who is already waiting in the stash... Plan for this kit is to make it a kind of "Light CSAR"-bird. Only limited defensive armament (in this case provided by a hand-held M249 on the starport-side) and simply a stretcher and some medical instruments inside. Camo will be two greys and two greens. I ordered the "Securité Civile"-version because I hoped that the kit would come in white plastic, but.... :P I fou
  11. I want to show you one of my latest "fun-builds". It´s the Revell EC-145 in 1/72, one of the best kits I built so far. Very crispy details and excellent fit! Lots of details for the interior of the cabin, but since I only used some of the seats of the VIP-version (the kit itself is the "ADAC/Rega"-kit) I got a lot of parts for the sparebox. The painting scheme itself is unique and created by myself: A leopard is breaking to the surface underneath the boring grey paint, crushing the metal. In the background you can see my Matchbox Twin Otter that I built 2 years ago with a similar paintin
  12. Its in 1/72, RoG issued some really nice kits in this scale in the last years... HAJO
  13. Any idea if they would fit a gun at the aft ramp? HAJO
  14. My EC-145 by Heller arrived today and I just started the build. Can anyone give me a hint how the FLIR that comes with the kit is mounted? The part is usually not used in the kit, so they are not mentionend in the assembly sheet. HAJO
  15. My RoG NH-90 TTH just arrived and I want to build it as a CSAR-bird. Are there any speculations or infos out there about the defensive armament for this version? HAJO
  16. Check this: http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=0162...next_id=0785646 HAJO
  17. Any progress? I just ordered the Heller EC-145 to make a similar project. HAJO
  18. I have ordered a sheet of Experts Choice decals. Don´t know when they will arrive, at the shop I ordered they were out of stock and they hoped to get them within the next 10 days. HAJO
  19. As far as I remember (I built 4 of them, but years ago) they were a quite nice kit to build. HAJO
  20. Too bad about the kit... I used those wire-ties too to make 20mm minigun ammo-belts, one can be seen here: HAJO
  21. I´m signing in because I have the same problem with my F-101. I will try Liquid Decal Solution to fix it, maybe it helps... HAJO
  22. Matt, do you have any pictures of that? HAJO
