  1. Oh yes!! This is the first coat, a brighter green: Then I added the dark green: I hope to paint the final gunship grey tomorrow. HAJO
  2. Sorry for not posting much, but somehow a F-16 is not that entertaining during building (at least for everyone else except the modeller). Just worked along and have "luck" today, since my younger daughter is sick and can´t go to kindergarten. My wife has important business today, so I stay at home instead of going to work. Added the podded sensors on the air intake: I think I can start painting this evening! HAJO
  3. Yep, I read those articles, too, and that´s why my "A-16" is a "what if". What if they were able to overcome the vibrations of the podded 30mm? 😉 HAJO
  4. This is my next project, type is "What if?". I will build the CAS-version of the F-16, dubbed A-16 and designed to replace the A-10... The Revell kit of the 1/72 F-16C will be the base for this project: The cockpit was quickly done... ...as well as the main fuselage: HAJO
  5. And, as requested, pictures of the finished model: Most of the decals are from the kit, except those that were necessary for the Heeresflieger (Army Aviation) markings by HaHen. The HaHen-decals are a bit darker and less colorful and therefor you can see some slight differences, especially at the hull-number. Overall I´m very pleased with the kit and the result and will surely build another Do-27. Then most likely something where I can live up my creativity. Zoom on the officer: The belly: And a comparison with an USAF Cessna O-1: HAJO
  6. Thanks, yes, he should have used a seat-belt, although I´m not sure if he may already uses one, since it might be a classic waist belt, which would be hard to see. Yep, the camo is hand-brushed. HAJO
  7. I want to show you the current project I´m working on, which is the - I can´t stress this enough - brilliant kit of the Dornier Do-27 by Special Hobby in 1/72. Since I wanted to do an aircraft in German Army Aviation markings, I bought a set of decals from HaHen, only to notice later one that I initially fell in love with the decals by AirDOC, but the HaHen-decals do have markings for a Heeresflieger (Army Aviation) version as well. The interiour is nicely done and quickly got some color: As usual, I put in a crew, using the Revell Pilots set. The pilots got different heads and now wear head-phones. Even though the Do-27 is pretty small, the two figures fit in pretty good! An officer of the German Army is sitting in the back, enjoying a ride to get an aerial view and better situational awareness. I had to use a 1/87 scale figure, since anything bigger wouldn´t fit into the compartment. But looking at this smaller "Panzer-Mann", I´m reminded of a former german Colonel that commanded my brigade when I was a conscript in 1996/97. "Oberst Trull", as his rank and name were then (he retired as Major General in 2008) was very popular in the German Army for his dedication, professionalism and style, and I was proud to have been a member of "his" Tank Brigade 18 "Holstein" back then. A close-up of the crew and it´s passenger: Also mounted the wings and rudders, so far really excellent fit! The crew has been placed inside the aircraft: I gave my Tank Officer a rucksack, a map and a G3 rifle: Looks like he´s enjoying the ride! Also added the engine cowling and the clear parts. I don´t think I have ever seen such brilliant clear parts before! I used some blueish grey for the whole uppe rpart of the aircraft as base coat. NATO-oliv for the green parts of the camoflage: It does look the part, especially in comparison to the instructions! And with natural lighting: HAJO
  8. I think the kits are identical, except for decals. HAJO
  9. Thank you! I hope the whole thing stays on the humorous side and will never turn serious... HAJO
  10. They even said in their email that they are offering the best "professional conditions" known... It took a while until I was able to stop laughing... HAJO
  11. Thank you guys! I built the same kit some years ago, but it´s currently at my parents place. I think the rudders are too big and ruin the look of the aircraft. My idea back then was to use it as a "Super FAC", and that´s why I have chosen the following armament: HAJO
  12. My N/AW-10A is done: More pictures in the WIP here: HAJO
  13. Thank you for your comments, guys! Now it´s done! I think it´s looking like the "Mothership of Close-Air-Support"! Here a comparison with a "normal" A-10 (Italeri): Both cockpit in comparison: "Who´s got a bigger tail?" 😉 Even though the rudders of the N/AW-10A haven been cut smaller by me, they are still a good portion bigger than on the normal A-10: I had planned to nstall the Mavericks in a triple, but like on the original aircraft the inner missile collided with the gear sponson, so I had to leave it off. Nice shark-mouth! I mounted an additional sensor-pod. First idea was to place it between the Sidewinders and the Mavericks on station 10, but that would be too narrow. So I put it on station 8 and a LGB as counterweight. This way the wing is also a bit cleaner with the stations 2 and 10 empty. And in natural environment: HAJO
  14. That´s a cool name for a load! I´ll keep that in the back of my mind for the release of the Trumpeter 1/72 Intruder and will use it there.... HAJO
  15. Yep, the aircraft itself is done! But it is still missing one of the main features of the A-10: Weapons!!! 😄 HAJO
  16. Wasn´t there also the order to organize some "ID 10 T"? HAJO
  17. If I remember correctly the build of the Trumpeter F-105 was a pleasure when I did it about 10 years ago. As for accuracy - I´m no expert, I just liked what I built! HAJO
  18. I think I read once that the original "white" nose was too clearly visible when the BUFF approached its target, so they changed to black to improve "stealthiness"... HAJO
  19. I skipped making a picture after applying the black spots. I wish they`d be a bit more greyish, but hopefully the final matt coating will reduce the contrast. As you can see, I have already added the decals using a set from Microscale since the kit came without decals (2nd hand). The Microscale-decals looked a bit old and I was doubtful if they will do good - but they did excellent! They went on very smoothly and reacted good to Mr. Softer, which was important for the shark mouth on the nose! In the background: A letter accusing me having done a violation of § 41 Abs 1 iVm Anlage 2, § 49 StVO; § 24 StVG; 11.3.5 BKat. 😄 Or, in short: A speeding ticket! 😉 HAJO
  20. Thank you guys! The new owner received his personal dooms day and it´s sitting now in his office: HAJO
  21. What sense makes looking out in space anyway? I don´t think they can open and window and enjoy fresh air... 😉 HAJO
