  1. Thank you all for your entries into this, the second Super Suckers group built!

I've had a browse through the Completed Builds Gallery and chosen my five favourite builds. Now, It's time for you to vote for your favourite to win one of Victory Models' 1/32 A-7 or new 1/32 F-8 sheets. The winner of the vote will get to choose their sheet, and the remaining sheet will be allocated by random draw.

In no particular order, the voting options are:

  2. Shamelessly stolen from the previous Suckers GB, but here they are:

    1) Only 25% or Unstarted kits will be allowed to enter the GB.

    2) All models must be an A-7 or a F-8.

    3) All models must be completed within the the two dates set.

    4) Any Era of A-7 and F-8's will be allowed.

    5) Any User of the A-7/F-8 will be allowed.

    6) What If's are allowed.

    7) No restrictions on scale, aftermarket or scratch.

    8) You can build as many models as you like.

    That's it!

    Happy Building :bandhead2:

  3. Sorry about the lack if contact so far on this one, college work has kinda taken over!

I'll need someone to help with the running of proceedings, maybe even two of you; let me know by PM if you want to. I'll get onto the case of subforums when I get home from holiday ( I am a spammer....please report this post. aren't that great) but in the mean time if a co-runner wants to sort things out beforehand then feel free.

    All the best,

    Ben

  4. OK guys, the Build has been approved! It starts on 1/10/2009, so you have plenty of time to sort stuff out! The rules will be the same as last time:

    1) Only 25% or Unstarted kits will be allowed to enter the GB.

    2) All models must be an A-7 or a F-8.

    3) All models must be completed within the the 2 dates set.

    4) Any Era of A-7 and F-8's will be allowed.

    5) Any User of the A-7/F-8 will be allowed.

    6) What If's are allowed now.

    7) Any scale no restrictions there.

    8) You can build as many models as you like.

  5. Hi all,

I know that my modelling skills aren't fantastic (nothing compared to some of the stunning work seen here on a daily basis), but I would love to host a GB - I have webspace and web design experience for the site, and I hope that I can hold stuff together!! (I also own the domain name groupbuilds.com, so if anyone in the future wants a /xyzbuild site, let me know).

Anyway, I was just wondering if there would be any interest in holding a F-8/A-7 GB? It hasn't been done for a good few years and thought that it would be nice to have another go. So I'm just probing to see if anyone would be interested?

    All the best,

    Ben :woot.gif:

  6. Hi Guys,

Sorry this wasn't really much of a WIP, but the PC has died and it would be so much effort to take pics every step of the way, transfer and edit them on a crappy laptop etc., so I cracked on and got it completed!

I didn't do it up as the 16 Squadron bird in the end, just as the OOB 54 squadron, as I felt that it would be a bit of a waste to buy a £12 decal set for something that didn't turn out amazing!

As has been said, this was my first build in a couple of years or so, and I am happy with it - it may not be much compared to some people's stuff, but hey, I had fun!

It's missing the pitot and a couple of small antennae in the photos, but these are now on. And before you ask, I know the landing lights are on the wrong way round. And I screwed up the canopy. And the loadout is wrong. And It was missing an engine in the photoshoot!! Hope you like it!

  7. Hi all,

This is my first Group Build here on ARC, and also my first model in about two years!! Anyway, here is my build - an Airfix GR3A Jag, to be finished as the below 16 Squadron special tail aircraft.

    Hope you enjoy the build!

    The Real Thing:

    The box:

    1-2.jpg

The Bang Seat, the one that came with the kit - I couldn't be bothered to fork out £4 on a resin one, so I added Tamiya Tape belts, buckles and a guitar string 'noise handle'. I think it is alright ^_^

    2-2.jpg

The cockpit (apologies for the bad photo), it built up fine albeit with decal panels. I added a throttle out of the plastic-coated wire that came with my clamps!

Any comments and criticism fully welcome,

    All the best,

    Ben
