  1. Count me in (late!) with an Airfix 1/48 Jaguar of 54 Squadron.
  2. Oh, don't worry, that comes out of my '**** Up' fund - this one is entirely seperate! Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I'm looking for something for the Gone But Not Forgotten build really, and I'm in the process of building a Revell Typhoon. I think I will end up going for an Academy F4 or A4, then speccing them up a bit with some resin/PE. Keep the suggestions coming though - my stash needs to grow! ;) Thanks, Ben
  3. Evening all, After getting back into modelling after a bit of a break, my stash is...well...not there, so it of course needs building up So, I only really build 1/48, and would like to keep costs down (broke student), so what five kits would you reccomend for me to build over the next few months that preferably don't cost any more than £20/$40? Cheers, Ben :D
  4. Hi all, Just come back into modelling recently, and decided I will join this build. I'll have a look through my stash later, but here is a banner for now: I kept it minimal, but I hope that you like it; now I want to see all you Brits using it... Cheers, Ben
  5. Hi all, I just found this kit in my stash and have started to build it up - very nice it is too! Anyway, I appear to have lost the decal sheet...how would I go about finding a new one? Cheers, Ben
  6. Not what you want to hear...
  7. Just got back from the Shoreham Airshow where Hawker Hurricane II BD707 crashed during a WWII Airfield attack sequence. On Battle of Britain Day too. Greatest Condolences to all family and friends. :D

  9. Hi all, Im not sure is there kind of images have been posted here before, but I thought you might want to take a look... All taken using my Canon 10D and 70-200mm f/4L And my favourite: Hope you liked them! Ben
  10. Hi all, just knocked one up very quickly; it's not great but we havent got any banners yet! Ben
  11. Hi all, Just come back to ARC after a 2 year break from model making, is it too late to enter a Tamiya 1/48 SHAR FRS.1? Thanks, Ben
  12. I just want to ask what colour gunmetal is suposed to be, cos my metalcote gunmetal is satin black...
  13. same thing here - I ended up with a pink HP Victor...It said 225 on the lid and it was in a dark room so i didnt realise what had hapned till The whole upper side was a lovely shade of photo Rec pink! Ben
  14. I use any kind of auto primer, or varying shades of Grey/White Tamiya rattle cans. Ben
  15. Surely if you have a FRONT display line, there is no reason why you cant have a REAR one? You are still the same distance from the crowd! On sort of the same topic - the best displays are those that have curving display lines, such as Biggin Hill in the UK, as if you go to the far side of the airfield, you get the planes al but flying over you (as well as the Eurofighter Typhoons turning 180 degrees from broadside on with jetpipes in you face! WHAT A NOISE!) Ben
  16. Hey people! Two weeks ago I bought this kit fro a tenner from my (reasonably) LMS. It is a beauty of a kit to put together, the only real amount of sanding needed being on the 'step' where the wings join the forward fuselage, just aft of the front wheel bay. (This seems common on these kits, as 3 out of the 4 phantons I have built have had this problem!!) So, after 2 weeks, and minimal milliput, the kit in now in its primer, though the cockpit needs a LOT of tidying up with a small brush! Any comments would be appriciated! (Im 13, which would hopefully make up for the reasonably crud build
  17. I got: Revell of Germany 1/48 F4-F Phantom - £10 Revell of Germany 1/144 Airbus A380 - £10 Milliput Superfine - £ 4.50 Tamiya Acrylics - Copper and Silver - £ 1.10 each Tamiya Spray - Haze Grey or something - £4.50 I have to say, the kits were both amazing value; reeduced because of Christmas overstock! Ben
  18. What paints have you used, mike? Cheers Ben

    Windex??

If you used 'Klear' then this is more likely to clog up your brush!! If you actually did use windolene, then it seems to work for me! Ben
  20. Yup, I distinctly remember watching a film of a Harrier firing a Sidewinder at a A-4 and the missile going straight up its jetpipe. Ben
  21. Yup, it was called High Speed Aluminium and was used on all RAF jets until around 1960 (please correct if wrong) Ben
