Mighty impressive!
-
I worked on this kit for just a short time after finishing a MiG-23 that I thought would never end. I love these pegasus kits. I did their Great White Shark and am currently working on the T-Rex. I have the Spinosaurus #1 on my christmas list! I usually struggle with gaps especially on kits with textured surfaces. The Pegasus kit had a pretty tight fit but there were still a few gaps. Hopefully I minimized them. I am trying a new technique on the T-Rex.

The level of detail is just outstanding. You have done such a good job. I am especially impressed with those ejection seats. Great, clean, eye-catching work.

pretty spectacular!

Oh yeah. I would definitely recommend it. The kit detail is really good for 1/48th. Lots of PE included. I think its worth the $50 you can find it for. Thanks for looking!

Finally finished my MiG. I didn't have great reference photos on the wingtip lights so initially I put them on and left them clear. Upon further review they are blended into the wing and I should have just painted the clear part with the rest of the wing. I was left with a blending job after the whole thing was together. So I am not super happy with that but its time to move on to something new.

A note to anyone thinking about this kit: For a 1/48th jet this kit has a ton of fiddly bits. Air scoops, pitots, antennae. You name it. So it has taken me a while to get those done. I am finishing up the last APEX missile and the inside of the canopy. After that I still have the whole ejection seat and control stick. I don't know why I always save those for last.

What a great build. The avionics bays are a real gem.

Getting much closer! I had the day off and so I have dedicated it to the MiG. I used the Eduard wheel wells and wheels. Great drop in replacements for the kit parts although I will say the kit parts aren't that bad. I also used G-Factor landing gear which was a major improvement over the kit. Now I am working on missiles and then all of the fiddly bits. I am using the Eduard Apex missile kit. Again a big improvement over the kit supplied parts. I have the flat car on and I am thinking this is looking okay so far. I really like the Florey Model wash I am using but it can be hard

Solid. -
Why do you have a stash LARGER than you can build?

A couple of different answers a) just in case I get snowed in for 20 years and need something to do B) so that I have choices c) to will to my son who is not quite 2 now but will surely love my strange hobby d) because my interests shift faster then the rate at which I can actually build something e) because it seemed like a good idea at the time? f) sales. I rarely pay full price for any of my kits -
Holy Cow. That is some real improvement on that kit!

Completely ridiculous in its awesomeness. I love watching your builds. I eagerly await more (maybe final?) progress! -
I guess I just used the Solvaset because that was what was available at the time. I have used the Micro sol and set in the past but I was out. I like the Solvaset okay. It really gets the decals to snuggle in on the first go around.

Really looking the part! Awesome paint.

The fit is above average but nothing to rave about. The join between the front fuselage and the main fuselage needs the most work. I did a lot of sanding on this and used some filler. I also weighted the nose. Just taking one look at it I figured it would be a tail sitter.

I used to post all my in progress builds here on ARC and got out of the habit somehow, but I think its time to start again. So here is my current project I started withe the Trumpeter kit but added: Aires Cockpit Eduard Exhaust Eduard Wheel Bay Eduard Wheels Eduard Missiles Metal Pitot Assembly was pretty straight forward with a couple of issues. The join between forward fuselage and mis fuselage is clumsy and needed some sanding and filling. I thought that the swing wing mechanism was a little loose but otherwise this kit goes together without much protest. I decided to go with one

Great idea for a group build. The only problem is I might suffer a complete mental breakdown in deciding which shelf queen to assemble first.

Holy cow! That is awesome!

this is looking rad! I can't wait to see the reveal with all of the masking off

Post pics of your T-33, I'd love to see them. I wish we could get a NE ANG history sheet that goes from P-51 to RF-4C in 1/48. I would do them all!
-
I have an F-16CJ, so that Eagle Strike sheet might work. Any others?
-
I was curious if any manufacturer did an F-16 decal sheet that had a female pilot? I have a couple of F-16s that I would like to build and I thought it would be something a little different. I do have the Tamiya F-16 Thunderbirds that features two female pilots but I was looking for fleet jets. Thanks in advance!

Great looking Grizzly. I love that scheme but the camp tails make me nervous to try. I might have to give it a go. You did a great job with it.
