  1. What a beautiful piece to end the aircraft part of the build!
  2. I’m a bit late! So, decals are sorted thanks to KitsWorld (I don’t actually have them but that‘s one box ticked). Airfix is really nice but tricky to backdate to - what would I need to do for a Movie F? Or, look for the Promodeler kit in its original form (or a Revell box) as it’s a good F. Any advances? I acknowledge it’s an unusual request!
  3. Tanmodel maybe? I seem to remember some Phantom chat from them a few years back.
  4. Thanks Joe, the lack of pylons is disappointing but not a deal-breaker.
  5. Hi all, I'm struggling with this. I have an idea which involves a stand-mounted F4U-1D but it doesn't seem as though any of the available kits have an option to build with retracted gear. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it easy enough to build, say, the Tamiya kit gear-up? Or is there an option that won't require much work in the way of packing, filling etc?
  6. Beautiful job, Dai! I enjoyed following this build and the end result is a gorgeous example.
  7. I have to confess I've never built a 1/144 BUFF, only box scale and 1/72, but how much of the IP is actually visible when assembled? And I may have missed it: is there provision for it to be built gear-up OOB?
  8. That's turned out as gorgeous as I was hoping for, well done Ray!
  9. Only positive comments from me, she's beautiful! The bays look amazing - I hope you'll be displaying this on a mirror.
  10. Thank you, that’s very much appreciated!
  11. It's perfect. I love it so, so much! You've done an amazing job Calum and I'm very jealous you have that for your display!
  12. I'm really enjoying this build and the extra attention to detail going into it. Vacforming the head to get a mask is brilliant! And I have to confess I'd forgotten about the cockpit project...which I was also thoroughly enjoying. I hope you get back to it in time.
  13. Tom Cleaver has written a build review and says the nose issue is fixed.
  14. A friend gave me his childhood one which survived *mumblemumble* years. I wish I'd had one as a kid, it's so cool! It's the sprayer variant which is what I'd want.
  15. Thanks for the info and advice! Future was available here as Klear for some time then vanished - I have a small amount left from my 2008 bottle! - and there is debate as to whether an equivalent is on our shelves again. I'll bookmark that link too. I expect to refer to that and this thread a lot! I have a few candidates for trials and my wife already knows foil is more likely to be used for models than cooking!
  16. Excellent stuff Dai, I've not paid much attention to pre-Zero/Oscar Japanese aircraft and this looks like a very interesting build.
  17. I've often thought about using the egg kit as a base for a "proper" model! It's certainly available and cheap!
  18. ALF18, thank you for sharing the whole foiling process in such detail. I have a 1/48 Airfix Fury biplane that's been waiting for me to gather the courage to try foiling the nose - this thread will be immensely helpful, thank you! The biggest worry I have with doing a foiled model is the decals. Is silvering a problem? Do you use any setting solutions?
  19. Do you mean the AMP 1/32 kit? I didn't realise it had been released!
  20. I think we need to see some photos of the 1/1 example first! Photos plural - remember the early F-117 kits?
  21. Gorgeous work! I'm sorry to say I missed this one, now I want to build an F-16. Inspirational!
  22. Ah, good news for this broke Cheyenne fan 😭
